Can I shave my head during the ugly duckling phase?

Hi Guys, I’m 6 days post op now and was wondering whether I could shave my head during the ugly duckling phase? 
 

I’ve kept a razor shaved head for about 5 years so feel comfortable shaving my head, and would rather this than patchy growth that would highlight my existing SMP. Is there any reason why I can’t? 
 

From what I’ve read here, your grafts are secure after 10 days, so was wondering if I could do a wet shave.

Generally you are advised to wait for a month post op, and that’s with clippers. Don’t even think of using a wet razor on your head so soon after surgery.

@streethawk thanks for the reply, and most likely I won’t. I just want to know why though, if the recipient site and grafts are sealed and healed.

The scalp doesn’t heal for months actually so you would cause irritation and a lot of trauma to the scalp- you would certainly feel it. The scalp needs to heal for growth to be optimal.

@Bej520 the thought of using a manual razor that soon after surgery makes me cringe

Why you want to razor shave your head? 

Just clip it after one month post op
