2310 grafts, Dr. Pekiner, October

Hey guys. On 01.10 it was time for me and I landed in Ankara. The driver was already waiting for me and took me to the hotel.
I had booked the Green Park Hotel. Fortunately, it wasn't very warm in Ankara during my stay, otherwise the lack of air conditioning would have really upset me. Otherwise, the hotel was okay and the food there was also quite good.

I was picked up from the hotel at 8:30 and driven to the clinic, which was only 2-3 minutes away. They prepared breakfast for me and I had a short break in the waiting room.
Afterwards I met Dr. Pekiner who discussed my medication with me. He asked about the hair situation in the family and what I wanted.

When we were done, the hairline was drawn, wiped away, redrawn, etc. That took a while. Dr. Pekiner then asked for my opinion and we agreed on a graft number of 2300. It was important to me that it be somewhat denser than the standard, about 60 square cm. The hair was shaved off and photos were taken.

After my short modelling career, the anaesthesia started. The whole thing did hurt a little, but it was bearable. On the first day, 754 FU were transplanted. The second day was divided into 2 sessions. In the first session 867 FU were transplanted and in the second 689. 2310 in total. After we finished the second day I got out of my retirement and we took another round of pictures.

On the third day I went back to the clinic to talk to Dr. Pekiner about the days and weeks afterwards. I was given cream and saline solution and aspirin as a blood thinner. Dr. Pekiner expects a good result and everything went smoothly.
I found the team to be very friendly and professional.

Now I hope everything goes fine and I can look forward to my new hairline. By the way, 2500-2800 grafts were suggested to me at first but the whole thing was reduced to 2300 as already written above. Unfortunately, I find myself thinking again that maybe I should have lowered the hairline a bit more. I still think it was the right decision to follow Dr. Pekiner's advice tho. This is actually very healthy approach by Dr. He didn't scam you, and he harvested enough for the area you needed. You are going to be super happy of it. Granted

Oh, for sure. At no point did I think that he was trying to scam me in any way. As I said, he was very kind and professional. He actually subtracted all of the hotel costs which was a nice surprise. The German assistant told me, that they will only subtract 250€ for the hotel but he did more than that.

Hey guys, so we are 10 days post surgery and I took some new pictures. Most of the scabs are gone by now and I think that everything looks quit nice :)

What do you guys think?

Edit: Got a message yesterday from the german assistant if everything is going fine. Nice gesture to ask ;)

looking fantastic mate. you planning on letting it all grow out so the native hair covers it while in ugly duckling? or shaving it all down?

I dont know yet. When is it safe to shave down the hair?

@blubber
from Pekiner's post care instructions:
(which you should also have 😆)

Quote
In case of a visit to the barber in the first 3 months, the use of a shaving machine or a trimmer on the recipient
area should be avoided. Only cutting carefully with scissors is allowed.

assume this means you're ok to shave the native/donor area though. personally I'm going to just let my hair grow for the first 4 months and wear a hat, by month 4/5 I think my native fringe will be long enough to cover the new whispy recipient hairs and be pretty subtle.

One month Update:

Hi guys, just a quick update. 1 month has now passed and as you can see, a lot of hair has already fallen out. I think it started really noticeably in the 3rd week. Otherwise there's not much else to report.

Hey guys

It's now been 3 months. Fortunately, the itching is completely gone now and so far the growth looks really good. What do you think? Sorry for the not so good pictures^^
