Any way i like to plan for the day that it doesnt work and have read that Avodartbe used next.I know 'Leeson' has done this to good effect. I aslo found that Avodart is quite expensive, anyone know wehre it is cheapest and any view on 'changing meds' or any other comments would be appreciated, especially from Leeson Cheers
Regular Member irish-2008 Posted April 14, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted April 14, 2009 Hi calv, I posted a similarquestion and Leeson replied on my post with website addresses with cheap Dutas (here) i would recommend to only upgrade to Dutas if you havent experienced any sides with Proscar as it is a stronger drug regards, Irish Current Regime: Minox liquid 5% twice a day Proscar 1/4 tab a day Nizoral every 2nd day MSM 1000mg a day Silica 200mg a day AHS 6 months laser treatment- POOR results Crescina - no results IRISH

Senior Member Jojo Posted April 15, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted April 15, 2009 hey Irish, where do buy your Proscar from? I too am from Ireland, i can't remember where i bought my last batch of generic Cipla Proscar from. Also I donno about the 4rx place they sell finasteride made by Genpharma which could be dodgy. I'm finding it harder to find a place who'll post decent generic stuff to Ireland. I have been considering buying Finpecia (Cipla) from Hairlosstalk's site cos i heard its legit but its kinda expensive. Thanks
Regular Member irish-2008 Posted April 15, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted April 15, 2009 Hi Jojo, Yeah i no what you mean about delivery. In Ireland they have a law blocking prescribes drugs entering the country ib customs. Because of this many websites dont deliver to Ireland. However some websites such as 4rx.com deliver to Ireland because they package it in a certain way. I too had my doubts about 4rx so i sent a private message to Peter88 who recommended the website and posts regularly here. He said the drugs do work as he had to stop using them because he was going to have a child and his hairloss came back and when he restarted his hairloss went away again which proves that the stuff is ok. I saved a bunch dont have to pay doctor for prescription ?‚¬100 and proscar ?‚¬50 for only 4 months. So i ended up buying from 4rx which so far they seem grand. My only complaint is that now i get spam emails from pharmacies not sure if its from 4rx but its really frustrating as the emails are about selling viagra and about what viagra could do for my sex life. When i was looking for websites that sell proscar i must of logged on or something to one of the dodgy ones. Anyway 4rx.com is the website i oredered off they seem ok and the tablets are similar to ones sold all legit websites. But its up to yourself Regards, Irish Current Regime: Minox liquid 5% twice a day Proscar 1/4 tab a day Nizoral every 2nd day MSM 1000mg a day Silica 200mg a day AHS 6 months laser treatment- POOR results Crescina - no results IRISH
Senior Member Jojo Posted April 15, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted April 15, 2009 Thanks Irish, that sounds good. Have some generic propecia from them can try that out, its so much easier then cutting a round generic Proscar tab into 5ths, if ur only trying to take 1mg of it. On your current regime you state your taking 1/4 Proscar a day, did you buy that from 4rx.com? I've just been on the live chat with them and they said they don't carry Proscar. Yeah I'm getting those annoying emails for viagra etc aswell.
Senior Member wantego Posted April 15, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted April 15, 2009 Is Avodart any different than propecia/proscar? Somebody in a post said Avodart blocks 2 kinds of DHT while propecia/proscar only blocks 1. All the different names have me a bit confused. Are they all the same thing just packaged in different sizes? 4374 grafts-7/2/2008-Dr Rahal 485 singles 2336 doubles 1526 triples 16 quads 9809 total hairs
Senior Member Jojo Posted April 15, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted April 15, 2009 hey wandego, i was kinda interested in this also, yes they are different. From what i heard...." concerns have been raised about duasterides unkown longterm effects among males. Duasteride is a much more potenet drug then finasteride it suppresses two kinds of 5 alpha reductase(5AR)- these are the ezymes responsible for testosterones conversion into dht. finasteride only blocks the 5ar type 2 enzyme, duasteride blocks the 5ar type 1 enzyme which is found in the human brain, its function in the brain has not yet been identified. These are the reasons that duasteride could be dangerous because we simply do not know the long term systematic effects of the drug" Anyways so if ya havent tried Finasteride then start on Finasteride first, thats what most folk would advise i'd say. Regular Member irish-2008 Posted April 15, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted April 15, 2009 Hi Jojo, yeah should really update my signature its not 1/4 proscar anymore its now 1mg finasteride from 4rx. Those emails spam are so annoying!! Im a computer student and use my emails alot and they are pretty out there with regards to sex life emails Irish Current Regime: Minox liquid 5% twice a day Proscar 1/4 tab a day Nizoral every 2nd day MSM 1000mg a day Silica 200mg a day AHS 6 months laser treatment- POOR results Crescina - no results IRISH
Regular Member caveolae Posted April 18, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted April 18, 2009 Hi Guys, I thought i would make a post here. Im a scientist and i looked up the originsal paper that compares finasteride and dutasteride. The study compared increasing duta doses from 0.05 to 2.5 mg with 5 mg finasteride. At first I was wondering why they compared it against 5 mg finasteride since propecia is only 1 mg. However, other studies have shown no difference between 1 mg and 5 mg finasteride(for hair loss) - so i guess it doesnt matter. They also point out that their 5 mg results were similar to 1 mg results published in another study. Anyhow, the results show that 2.5 mg duta is significntly more potent than 5 mg finas. The study was limited to 24 weeks. Thus, if you're considering trying dutas and are worried about long-term effects it might be worth limiting your usage to 24 weeks to see if it makes any difference. If it does, then i guess its upto the individual to determine if they will continue treatment. My only concern would be where to get the duta. Internet sites are not regulated and could be sending you any old placebo pill. That would be my concern BTW, the link to the paper abstract is below http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pu...anel.Pubmed_RVDocSum
