Dr. Bernstein

Apologies if this is in the wrong category - I was unsure of which subsection to post to.

I posted to the general questions one as well.

I am curious why Bernstein is no longer on the recommended surgeons list.

The list is more meaningful if we understand why people are removed from it - i.e. is there a reason to no longer consider someone - or is it more sponsorship related.

I realize most people on this forum have their preferred docs - and he may not be your first choice for aesthetics etc  - but the removal does stand out as a question given his longevity and contributions to the field.

Can any information be shared?

yes, in reality, the community should be made aware of the possible cancellation of one or more surgeons, as well as requests for their admission, in the list of recommended.

Following this. I was looking for surgeons in my area, and then eventually checked out NY and realized my first surgeon wasn’t listed on the map as a recommendation anymore.

Came here to see if any responses will be posted.

I don't know for sure with Dr Bernstein, but it could be that he is semi retiring and doesn't feel the need to advertise much anymore. I believe he does have another female Dr working with him now, so she is probably taking most of the cases now unless you specifically ask for Dr Bernstein. I'm just making some guesses on what may be happening. I don't actually know the answer.

Schweiger Dermatology now owns Dr. Bernstein's practice. As far as we know, most surgeries are performed by Dr. Christine Shaver, if not all. As a result, Hair Transplant Network and Schweiger Dermatology thought it would be best to stop the recommendation. Now, we haven't reviewed Dr. Shaver's body of work. We have invited her to have her patients start sharing their results. We're open to reviewing her independently. We don't ever recommend clinics; we only recommend surgeons. You'd choose a great surgeon if you could have Dr. Bernstein perform your procedure.
