Can we notice very good results after 6 months of hair transplantation compare to first 6 months?

Given that nothing much is happening in the first 3-4 months, then yes, the bulk of the growth and development of a HT occurs in the 2nd 6 months post-op.

But if you're asking whether you can tell whether a result will be good or bad by the 6 month mark, then it's a bit more complicated. A successful HT will be taking decent shape by the 6 month mark in most cases, though there are late bloomers. If a HT is genuinely bad then it will expose itself by the 6 month mark more often than not.

Generally you can see 50-60% result after completing 6 month mark and the most noticeable difference in comparison to pre op condition is seen somewhere around 8-9 months...though there are some slow growers as well as early growers so all this things always varies from person to person and due to that to judge a particular result one should give 12 months...

Theres a lot the comes down to individual physiology.

If you look at the transplants that look great after 6 months most are on younger patients, so age plays a part too.

As others have said, the more elite surgeons generally cause less trauma (so quicker healing on average) as well as getting high yield.

However, if a bad surgeon mistreats grafts or implants poorly you'll get a bad result at 6 months regardless.

I was an easy grower, but people told me to cool my jets as it doesn't indicate whether the result will ultimately be good or not.

I'd say that by 8-9 months 90% of people will know whether their transplant will be a success.

After 6-7 months you can have mostly good reference for the frontal area, but for the crown you'll need to have a lot more patience around 8-12 months, saying this from personal experience with comparison to average till late bloomers candidates.

From my understanding between month 5 and 6 you get to see most of the improvements taking shape. Month 4 is when you see earlier results for most.

I think medication can be a big factor. Oral Minoxidil can accelarate a lot for some which is why I plan to start post surgery but of course, its never a guarantee.

@Rogith,

Honestly, everybody is different. But on average, it is said that patients typically experience approximately 60% of their growth by around six months. But keep in mind, that “Growth” only means that the hair has broken through the surface of the scalp. Most transplanted hairs, when they start growing, throw in thin, fine and colorless to the point where you can barely see them.  Because of this, many patients will see Most of their cosmetic  improvements between 6 and 12 months rather than 1 to 6 months.

As I said however, everybody is different so early growers may experience substantial growth between 3 and 5 months and see maybe 80% of their growth in the later months.

I hope this helps.

Based on things I've read on here mostly, the first six-to-eight months will generally be when the hairs grow, and the time after that is when the hairs start to thicken

This is a good breakdown. I have seen some cases improve after 12 months but less common, maybe 10-20% of the time. Similarly, there are guys who seem to be at completion by 6-7 months.

It does seem that younger patients recover faster, perhaps because younger people recover from injuries in general more quickly.
