Hi,

Sorry to jump on this thread but seemed relevant for me.

I’ve seen a number of surgeons for consultations in the UK including Dr Reddy.

I’ve ended up booking with Dr Greg Vida from the Harley Street Hair Clinic and wondered if anyone could share their experiences.

I had three consultations there in total, one was back in 2019 when I was told I was too young at the age of 26.

I’ve then had another two in the last 6 months. The last one being April of this year when I made the decision to go ahead and book.

I understand this clinic has been around a long time but I can’t help but find it a little confusing why I cannot find any feedback of the clinic or Dr Vida on this forum.

I also found my consultation with Dr Reddy confusing as the initial conversation was around filling in the frontal temple recession up to 1800 grafts.

However my girlfriend attended the consultation and mentioned lowering my hairline slightly this then lead to Dr Reddy discussing a 2 day surgery where he would also fill in some of the gaps in my crown region.

when receiving my consultation I was given two options for either a 1 day or two day procedure which really confused me. The reason being is that every other consultation I’ve been to has refused to go into my crown region due to the amount of native hair and advising it could damaging the existing hairs.

although I’m booked in at the HS Hair Clinic in September I’m still feeling very confused as to weather or not I’ve made the right decision and would be grateful for any advice/experiences anyone can share.

Did my research , never heard of Vida before

How much was Reddy charging you?

They have a number of patients videos on YouTube if you look the clinic up.

Option 1 - 1500 grafts was £7k

option 2 which was over 2 days and up to 3000 grafts was £12500

Hairline design is a sensible one to be fair, the price is that Raghu Reddy, or Vida?

This was Dr Vida who went for a more rounded design. I think Dr Reddy often curves it back a bit as it get to the back of the temple. Dr Reddy’s design when he drew it in on didn’t look as desirable however, when you see Dr Reddy’s results after they always look so natural which does make me question just having it rounded like in the pictures above is the right way to go or not.

Random question but is there any reason you didnt go to Mittal for a quote?

Hi, no particular reason but I’ve done extensive research over the last few years and had various consultations and always landed back at making a decision between the two clinics I’ve mentioned above.

I know someone who attended the Harley street hair clinic and had their procedure carried out by Dr Vida and his results were impressive. The video below show their result.

Dr mittal is fairly new but doing good work...and dr ball and reddy are the more experienced guys....this three are the best bet...the decision should be yours considering your goals and whose work you prefer i.e. Hairline design , donor management ,density ,involvement etc...check out all the cases from them and than take your decision

Dr Reddy was a lot more expensive a few years ago at the private clinic. If you can get him for the number of grafts you need for 12k you’ll need 2000 atleast by the looks of it I think you should certainly consider him. At the private clinic it would have been closer to 20k.

I have decided to book in with Dr Reddy for the 2 day option. It’s put my mind at rest as I couldn’t settle with my original decision and just didn’t feel comfortable moving forward with the HS Hair Clinic.

I do believe they’re a reputable clinic and have been around for a long time however, the fact that Dr Reddy is prepared to restore my crown region and other clinics wouldn’t has played major part in me changing my mind.

Ideally if I can possibly avoid having to have surgery again down the line it makes sense to get it all done in one session whilst continuing to take finasteride.

My surgery is booked for the 19th/20th of September so I will try and document my journey.

The best surgeons in London at the moment are:

Dr Edward Ball (check out his website - incredible before and afters, takes great care with his patients)

Dr Raghu Reddy (again great before and afters, has been doing it many years with some celebs to boot)

Dr Edward Miln (New gen surgeon, great before and afters, check his Instagram results and videos)

Dr Manish Mittal (New gen surgeons again, great results posted, seems to making a name for himself, not sure if he offers FUT though?)

Farjo is quite good though very conservative - I've never seen a knock out result.

Harley Street Hair Clinic, not sure who the patient photos relate to as their surgeons change every few years it seems? Who was Wayne Rooneys surgeon??

The Treatment Rooms Doctors post some great results also, though some results look a little thin...

could go to a world class doctor in europe for a half the price, are you not willing to leave the UK for the procedure?

I did have a consultation with Dr Mittal’s consultant who advised they would just look to fill in the temple recession and not my crown which is why I decided against moving forward with Dr Mittal. I also understand he’s fairly new to the scene and although his results look impressive on his instagram I think I would rather hedge my bets with someone that has more experience under their belt.

I also had a consultation with Dr Bicer but ultimately decided I didn’t want travel abroad and would rather remain in the U.K.

I didn’t think Dr Miln operated in London?

I don’t believe the surgeon the did Wayne Rooney’s is there anymore it was of course a number of years ago.

Did you have a consultation with the doctor, your picture above indicates hair line requirement only.

Could you not just consult directly with the Dr Mittal instead?

He's been operating at Westminster Medical Group for a while. I believe he started there originally

Hi Laurie, how was your procedure with Dr Reddy? Do you have any photos to post of Dr Reddy's work?

So far I've narrowed my choice down to him and Dr Miln after consulting with them all.

Hi David,

Apologies for the late response, I’ll be coming up to the 5 month stage on 19th of this month.

Dr Reddy and his team were great and professional throughout although, I can’t say my experience was pleasant. I expected the procedure to be fairly pain free after the initial injections however that’s was far from the reality.

I seemed to metabolize the local anesthetic very quickly and as result found much of the procedure extremely uncomfortable. Dr Reddy and his team did all they could to reduce the discomfort I was experiencing, I believe they even used 3 different types of anesthetic as well as a number if pain killers but it was as still very painful.

I like to think I’ve got a high pain threshold and I didn’t have any concerns going into the procedure but it was a tough couple of days, to say I was glad when it was all over is an understatement.

Again I want to reiterate I believe I feel this was just down to me not being that receptive to the local anesthetic.

My only slight concern at this stage is what I feel was perhaps a lack of grafts that were placed in the crown region, however it’s early days and I’m hoping for everything to start thickening up in the coming months.

I’ll do a separate post tomorrow to try and document my journey so far. I’ve been meaning to do it but I’ve just been super busy.

Hi Laurie, can you comments on your regrowth so far and how much time you took off work? How noticeable was your operation after 3 weeks ? I am considering Dr Reddy and met him. I was quoted £8500 for 1500 grafts and £14500 for 2800 grafts over 2 days

1500 per day and last between 3 and 4 hours. Punching performed by Dr Reddy, tugging of the graft performed by technicians to reduce doctor fatigue. Techs have been with doctor since 2019. Implantation is 25% doctor and 75% techs.

Picking a clinic based on location alone is silly, especially a location with such mediocre options if you take everything into account (price, results, length of time in business etc). You even admit that you can get a better result if you go to the Continent. Belgium and Switzerland have very decent options and you can get to Belgium and back by train from London. You also say you know it will be cheaper for the better result but then are reluctant to go for the best option of your shortlist based on price. This is a disaster waiting to happen. Just bite the bullet and go to the Continent.
