Should I still be feeling rubbish on day ten, post surgery?

Thanks a lot. I was taking some, I believe one of them was contributing (something with Penicillin in it) but have been off them all since Tuesday. No jet lag, a quick hop, skip and a jump from Hull to Leeds, one hour 🙂

@jc80220,

While everyone is different and we all recover at different times, anything more than mild tenderness 10 days post op seems problematic - regardless of whether you underwent FUE or strip.

I suggest consulting with your doctor sooner than later.  I think you might want to rule out an infection as I am a little bit concerned in hearing your symptoms.

Please keep us posted.

Hi, guys.

Had my operation last week at the Hair Dr. I still feel quite fatigued, lack of appetite, upset stomach, is this normal?

Are you unable to sleep due to the grafts? I always find my normal sleep pattern is shot during and after surgeries due to having to sleep in a corpse like state. This can knock you around for a week or so.

yes its completely normal.

A lot of clinic marketing makes it seem like you can get surgery on your lunch break, as if a hair transplant is the equivalent of a routine teeth cleaning 🤣

That of course is far from the truth. Hair transplants are a significant surgery, so its completely normal to feel off for the following week or two.

Oh, yeah. It's sucked, very little sleep. I wanted to wait until today, day ten, before laying on my head again, slept like a baby this afternoon.

That is so, so true. I feel like it's completely underplayed how significant it is. People posting for selfies with the surgeon afterwards, fun videos of themselves on the plane home. I could barely tolerate an hour home in the car afterwards, let alone being stuck abroad.

Hmm. I went out and had a drink or two at the bars the day after my surgery (Yes yes I know you're not supposed to). I didn't feel any pain or discomfort at all, in fact I felt pretty great. Was only around day 5 that things started to get itchy.

Granted I only had crown work, hairline area is probably more sensitive

I had 3000 grafts from the hair line moving upwards. Threw up twice due to the anesthetic, second time so badly I popped a graft 😄 Spent the surgery in complete discomfort due to my sinuses being aggravated by the positions I had to remain in. Crawled out the clinic on my hands and knee's. Everyone is different.

For people reading this that have never had the surgery, the surgery itself was a breeze. Pain wise, only when they jab you with the anasthetic needle, but it's mild and brief. Even sitting in the same position for so long wasn't an issue. Just my bodies personal reactions. Hair Dr team was first class and completely looked after me, would've been way worse with a lesser team taking care of me.

Stress and anxiety of what it looks like, what people will say, worry about how it will grow, etc could be the issue.
