@daz 2, Hope you are keeping up well and our message finds you in the best of the health

 

In lieu of the past events which led to your disappointment and us not being able to deliver to your expectations and not being able to perform your procedure and further move ahead with a refund is equally stressful for us and a very difficult position for us. However, we would request you to please try and understand our part and factors which lead to such a situation.

We're extremely upset with the recent incidents in your case and can surely assure that our intentions were to perform your procedure since we do agree that we mutually confirmed the procedure date and were equally looking forward to meeting you in person.

Our counsellor had proactively informed you when you were making a further deposit apart from your advance booking transaction to hold on to it and send that money once the visa and flight tickets are confirmed however you insisted to make the transfer before the commencement of the arrangements as stated above, On which you were told that in case of any mishap refund can take up to 6 months since we have come across such situations in the past. Upon receiving that information, you made a conscious decision to make the transfer yet. We do respect your advance planning and proactiveness to send the required funds prior to the procedure however please find this message as a humble reminder that you were informed about the turnaround time of the monetary funds in case of reversals.

Towards the Visa application process, you expressed your disappointment that you were not clearly told that you must make the arrangements on your own e.g., like appointment scheduling and necessary documentation, However as a business entity based out of India we are bound by certain regulations and can only share a letter of recommendation so that our dear patients must not face any hassle in regards to expressing their reasons to the Indian consulates towards their visit to India. We do respect your feedback whether the nature of such can be harsh or polite, however it was equally disturbing for us since we have not faced it earlier.

Hair Restoration is one of the most successful attempts in medical history of regrowing hair back at scalp where medications will not also play a very vital role. However, patient care is at its utmost and before we place the patient for the procedure there are certain viral markers (Blood Tests) which are required so that Doctors are ensured that they have a healthy individual for the procedure and also ensured that his health & safety is not being compromised. On this note when our concierge team approached you to share the blood work which is required prior to the procedure, you expressed extreme resentment and disappointment stating that you were not informed about the same, However you were informed politely by the consultant that you were informed about it and this was documented over the email as well on which he did share the email screenshots with you and in further progress you mentioned that you're in doubt and want to cancel the procedure (WhatsApp text and WhatsApp call on date 18 November). In lieu of that with a very disturbing and serious discussions with your treating surgeon, you were informed over an email that we are ready to cancel your procedure (Incidents occurred towards 19th November 2022). Upon reading that email you immediately tried to make a touch base with the consultant and apologised for your reactions and informed the counsellor to not cancel your procedure. On this note it became extremely disturbing, stressful, and doubtful for us because as medical facility it becomes our responsibility also to choose our patients and vice versa from both ends. However, keeping your realisation of your actions to the consultant in mind we did agree to move ahead with the procedure again.

After that to our surprise and disappointment you ended up typing a message to our consultant within your words that you are negative for a particular viral marker which was a part of the blood work which needs to be shared. On which our consultant informed you that this won’t be accepted as it is ideally not a report neither a remark shared by a governing pathology or any hospital. On this note you again accused the consultant of calling you a liar and also at the same time told him that in the UK (NHS) don’t share the reports however just a message on which we requested you to share a screenshot of that message from the relevant authority to which you got extremely uncomfortable and denied for the same. At the same time informed the consultant that what if I forge a report and edit and share it with you how will you come to know whether it’s my report or not. To this after having a discussion you were informed that you may come to India and get the blood work done over there however if there is any abnormality in your report then we might have to reschedule or cancel your procedure, Upon hearing this over the call you gave a yes nod however when the same was shared to you over the email, you replied to us with same language of calling you a liar and also threatening us that you might approach an influencer and share this story with him. Not ending over this you instructed us to get all the blood work done for the entire team who will be performing the procedure in your case.

Towards all these conversations we would like to apologise over a remark which has been shared by our consultant that the required blood work is a part of the law as we may confirm it to you the required blood work is a part of our facility health and safety guidelines towards ensuring that patient care is at its best. We have informed every patient on blood test, and it is an irrefutable fact that blood investigations are vital to ensure the procedure is carried out under full safety and precautions. We have mentioned beforehand to you on email to get blood tests done and the fact that hurt us was your false claim that you weren’t informed. To show us the proof that blood tests are the law and is mandatory and we admitted that it’s not a law rather these tests are Eugenix guidelines to carry out the operation safely. The viral markers (HIV, HBsAg, etc) that you were saying cannot be shared but you could have shared the text message that you received from NHS whether it’s negative or positive. Again, it is only for your safety, and you mentioned you were not going to share it and asked Eugenix doctors and the team to get the test done. This led us to the conclusion that you have extremely high trust issues with Eugenix Hair Sciences.

Due to trust related issues and your threatening text messages in written that you want to cancel the procedure we decided to cancel your procedure. To add on, your pain point looked as if you want the refund but can’t wait for 6 months. We’re very accommodating to every patient and thus we went out of our way to ensure you will get your refund in 15 days.

At the end, please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused as apart from medical facilities we are also aligned towards offering services to our patients which can be a memory to cherish for both ends for the longest period of their life however in your case we failed to deliver that. Maybe our association was not meant to be. We wish you all the luck with your future selection of the facility which you will be aiming towards

Just so we are clear - On the 18th November, I sent a message saying that it was putting the operation in jeopardy to the point of perhaps having to cancel. It did not say I wish to cancel! It was saying unless the matter was resolved I would have no choice given you said that I couldn't have the procedure without completing the tests. this was not a threat, it was a reality. I asked to speak to a manager several times and this was refused to me. I note that Rishabh was able to speak to a manager but purely for his own behalf not mine. You never requested a screenshot of the nhs text message! I was told it had to be from an email and in pdf format. So, from what i gather essentially what you are saying is that on the basis i entered info dialogue with you asking to speak to a manager as there were time issues getting the tests done and the op could potentially be in jeopardy then you decided to refund me ONE MONTH after you received that message? the refund email you sent was dec 28th.

You were paid up, the visa done and then I asked to book flights. Rishabh said yes. I booked the flights whilst on the phone to rishabh. It was only after this that rishabh mentioned to do the blood tests. this obviously caused time issues given the run up to xmas.

I'm not really sure what you are banging on about with regard to the visa. I think I may have mentioned it as I spent an entire day getting it done, travelling a considerable distance and then queuing up for 4 hours. 

On a number of occasions you were advised I was doing a video. Once, very early on when I advised of my wish to record the outside of the building and also the reception area. I could've just turned up and not mentioned it. I had the courtesy to ask. I was told this was fine.

I also mentioned that a youtube channel wished to do a video of my experience with eugenix. I advised you of this. Eugenix seems to like doing a lot of videos so I'm at a loss to understand why you didn't want the publicity if your results are good.

I didn't ask eugenix to do the tests as I wouldn't know that they do them. It was offered to me and I said yes no problem. This was only when time was really running out. why you couldnt have mentioned you could do the tests earlier on is beyond me. I did ask why you were redoing all the tests. I think this is reasonable to ask given a lot of the tests had been already accepted. No reply was given. The test was all agreed then I received an email out of the blue a few weeks later saying you had refunded me. So, after telling me that you had refunded me and it would take 6 months for the refund what am I meant to do? Of course 6 months is unacceptable.

trust related issues and threatening behaviour? Let me get this straight. so, because I asked to speak to a manager because time was running out and I was concerned that I couldn't get the tests done in time and may have no alternative but to cancel as if I flew to India, you wouldn't do the op then that is threatening? 

so, lets address these so called trust issues? I believe what you are referring to is that I politely asked if the people who would be working on my op were also hiv tested. again, you did not reply to this. I think this is a reasonable thing to ask. 

At least you have admitted that YOU decided to cancel my procedure. You didn't even bother to phone me first before sending the email. I tried to telephone 3 eugenix numbers I had for about an hour to enter into dialogue. They were all "online" but you chose to ignore my calls.

So, please accept your apologies? No thanks. You have caused me £500 in losses. 

Perhaps, you could share on here these so called "threatening messages"??????

I note you said you have refunded me. I did email you and ask if it was going to be a true refund ie: If I was going to receive back what it had cost me in gbp. again, this was ignored.

Also do keep in mind that incase of any refunds the payment done by a bank will take upto 5months for the money to reflect in your Bank Account.

Man. With all due respect you sound like a pain in the ass patient. Yes you are paying the doctors for a service and yes they should give you the best quality ethical surgery they can deliver. But they are not your servants. you are treating the consultant with zero respect.

plus all the antagonizing.
 

If I was the doctor I would throw you out of the practice in a heart beat. 

 

no wonder they decided to cancel your surgery.  
 

also from the conversation it does seem like there must be some real issues with refunds taking long and they are not doing it out of spite. Cause rishab said the same thing when he said “if your visa was not granted” refund will take 5 months. 

 

I hope you do better for ur next hair transplant doctor search. Remember respect is a 2 way street. u should treat everyone decently from doctor to staff .

 

also find out the hotel and taxi prices urself.

What was the point of you saying this? I wonder if its just a coinicidence or not that this was the last message you sent before they cancelled.

To me it comes across as "I lack confidence in the doctor and staff. If i am not satisfied i will blow up social media with a bad review. You better do a good job"

While i actually do believe that quite a few clinics may give you more TLC than the average Joe patient if you are a celebrity, VIP, influencer - if you yourself are not in this category, bringing up Matt Dominance sounds like a threat and you were punching above your weight class with that remark, so to speak.

  • The whole process seems convoluted. We don't have visibility of the emails but there should be standard emails detailing basic requirements like airport, hotels, blood tests etc.
  • Whatsapp is a poor mode of communication for anything other than basic comms.
  • The multiple part payments followed by the requests for confirmation and the worry over receipt just increases admin and stress.
  • The talk of laws with filming and blood test was unnecessary and confrontational. All clinics have their requirements. Follow them to the letter or choose another clinic.
  • The whole mattdominance, hairmentor, youtube, etc was most probably interpreted as veiled threats. At the very least for difficult transaction it just added unwanted noise to the comms.

I had messaged matt about 3 weeks prior excited to be doing my op. he had just replied. he wanted the footage etc and wanted to cover it. i was letting them know. i can see how it would be construed as threatening i really can. If i wanted to do a stitch up job i wouldnt have said anything. Nonetheless what would they have to worry about? I would rather say what is going on rather than spring it upon people.

As you say it seems like a big coincidence....This would certainly bring into question their official reason of cancelling.

@NikosHair The only reason I mentioned laws was because Rishabh told me it was Indian law to do the tests.He brought it up. This is misinformation. I asked to film and he said it was not legal without permission. Again, this is not true. I refer you to the youtube channel dj audits. It is very funny. It is eye opening as to what people say with regard to the law. Again, I asked rather than just springing a surprise on them. He also took it upon himself to keep adding my payments to the non refundable deposit. His response to that was it was just what they do.....I also did my best to adhere with their request for the blood tests, I really did. It was sprung on me after I'd booked the flights thus giving me little time....

It seems that I also have a troll. Not a very good troll but I guess you have to start somewhere :)

As others have said, the communication comes across to me as threatening and difficult.

Arguing over the law on filming then the ongoing talk about reviews and influencers would also have made me rethink whether you were a patient I wanted. From their perspective the risk vs benefit just wouldn't have been worth it.

As they said, it's a bilateral relationship - seems you had doubts about them, they had doubts about you and the best thing for everyone would be to find a better match.

I'm sure you didn't mean to be difficult. However, I do think there are things you should perhaps reconsider in your approach for your next surgery.

The communication that we've seen from the clinic wasn't flawless either, but this appears to be a long way from 'they cancelled without reason'.

I'm sorry you've lost the £500 and your procedure will be delayed. Turkey is an easier country to go to. Best of luck with your procedure.

@BackFromTheBrink Well they did say they cancelled due to my request to cancel which just isn't true.....I have been speaking to several clinics and asked if they are happy for me to do videos etc on youtube with my results and the general consensus is that it is welcomed.

I think mate you need to focus all your energy and efforts on your next HT and clinic. The chapter with Eugenix is over and open for everyone to make their conclusion. 

If you seriously trust sites like Mouthshut reviews then consider your £500 loss as a blessing and life saver for you mate. Move on.

Bro I really don’t understand why you’re upset with Eugenix. Look at my previous posts, I’ve had some concerns with how they run their business, but this isn’t one of them. 

They’d asked you for blood tests and made clear you require them on multiple occasions. You seemed fine with it, and then you didn’t? You then started asking to speak to a manager about blood testing laws (which many doctors require, unfortunately).  If they had been an issue from the start, you had the ability to opt out of surgery early on. Recognize you booked flights first, but it’s on their terms and conditions and most accounts of experiences here mention requiring blood work…

Same deal with filming. They’d told you it was fine, but you wanted to argue it for some reason. 

There’s also a few instances where you ask to speak to a manager without telling the poor rep why. Probably freaked the guy out and it’s not particularly kind not to give him a chance to answer queries. 

Hair transplants are as much the patient selecting a doctor as it is a doctor selecting a patient. If I were a doctor and a patient spoke to my staff this way, I wouldn’t bother taking them.

@Z-- Ive always been fine with the blood tests, the issue was time as I was told it was fine to book flights then dropped with the tests after that thus leaving me scrambling to get them done in time.  If the tests are so important to them surely this shouldve been made crystal clear before anything else? He was very very helpful when it came to the money side. I did do all but 2 - blood sugar and blood coag. The vast majority were done by gp surgery as fortunately I booked in a testerone test whilst booking in the blood pressure test (which eugenix asked for). I asked for a testosterone test as my mate had mentioned he had one a while back and he was put on hrt or something and its given him a new lease of life (he's 54). when i did the testosterone test the lady said it was worth selecting all of what was available to her as an "m.o.t"....These covered a significant amount of what they asked for later on, leaving hiv 1 and 2 and hepatitus b and c (and the 2 previously mentioned) left. It would have been helpful if eugenix had said you need to do a blood pressure test AND several blood tests at the beginning....rather than asking for the blood tests after the flights were booked.

I went back to surgery requesting the hiv/hepa/sugar/coag and was told they wouldnt do it for a hair transplant. This left me with little time due to flights......My only option that I could see was to do an online nhs sexual health check. They send you the kit by post. There was mail strikes etc. It took a while to turn up, I did it immediately sent it back. I hadn't heard anything for a few weeks so I phoned up. I was told the results over the phone. The lady said they could see the lab results but the lab hadn't forwarded to them. I advised Eugenix of the results. Then a few days later I'm told the format wasn't acceptable. I did try ringing the helpline back but was told it is only a text based service. They do not send emails. I was told by eugenix it needed to be in pdf format. This is when I asked to speak to a manager. He was fully aware of why. It was to enter into dialogue of resolving the issue of time. Then and only then he says I can do the tests in India but they would all have to be repeated. I agreed to this but asked why the gp surgery ones had to be redone. These were in the correct format.

I didnt ask to speak to a manager about any laws. I did get fed up with being told cobblers from rishabh on a number of occasions - the first was when he added about £650 as a non refundable deposit. When I asked his answer was "thats just how we do it". err no....My concern was that I could end up catching covid for example and missing the op and then them taking a grand when it should only have been 350....

I didnt ask he just came out with its indian law to do the blood tests. thats blatantly not true. they are eugenix guidelines. the same thing with videoing. its the law etc....clearly he didnt like being questioned. It seems to be a standard answer. I did msg him and say its becoming a problem (due to time running out). his reply was something like its not a problem, u need to do the tests or u dont get the op! 

As happyman says it is too much of a coincidence that when i mentioned i was doing a video with matt that they took the decision to jettison me. I feel they could have phoned me and entered into dialogue. Rather than do that they happily decided to make up a reason that wasnt true and have me lose 500 sheets. 

I've only recently stumbled on these forums so havent read about other accounts etc - I previously went to turkey. they did all the tests there.

@daz 2 Buddy i can understand your concern but it looks like a simple case, and you have made it complicated by kept on denying the blood investigations and treating them this way. There are a lot of patients from UK going to India (Eugenix) and I have never seen this type of case synopsis. 

My advice to you will be get your refund and look out for other clinics and at the same time understand the need of blood investigations as they're important to keep you safe especially when death cases in HT made new headline. This platform is definitely to bring out concerns, but it looks like you're just utilizing it for your own purpose. Get the refund and get it sorter (not many clinics will give you refund as well). @DHT I certainly wasnt denying them blood investigations. I did my best. I also agreed to do them in india. Yes, I'm waiting for my refund and I'm on the lookout for another clinic. I'm not sure what that purpose is. I've gone into detail of the issues I've faced. Perhaps eugenix will be clearer with regard to blood tests to their clients and not let them book flights before they are done so somebody isnt put into the same position i was.....

Mate, you come across like an absolute nightmare to deal with. I'm not trying to be harsh but this doesn't exactly look great on your part. I'd have told you where to go pretty quickly to be honest. Anyone who has ever spent any time in any kind of service related role dreads customers like you.

Firstly, why are you paying before you have a date confirmed? You just pay the deposit and then the rest before surgery in person like everyone else. what's with all the multiple payments? You seemed to introduce a lot of confusion into the mix with a total lack of awareness for who you were communicating with... You're dealing with a clinic abroad, where there will be little crossed wires here and there through written language/communication hurdles. (Rishab is my consultant, too, and he's been great, by the way). But rather than recognise this and keep things simple, you also start introducing stuff about laws, filming, influencers, asking to speak to managers etc... It doesn't matter what Indian law is regarding filming or blood tests. Eugenix require tests and it's up to them whether they allow you to film inside their premises. Leave it at that like any normal person would.

As for the blood tests... It's super cheap to just get it done in one shot in India. They're taking the same amount of blood whether they test for everything required or not. You don't get to pick and choose. Why you had to challenge this again I don't know (other than you being difficult). It's unfortunate that you weren't made aware of the option to do the tests in India earlier on - I get that - but bloody hell... Handle it better. That's all I can say really.

Have you dealt much with Indian culture before?

I've really enjoyed working with them during my career but it's a very different culture. I can guarantee they didn't mean to offend you or cause you issues.

They'd have tried to accommodate your wishes (thus the back and forth and escalation within their company). They'd also be very likely to try to avoid confrontation.

As i said, you're a bad match. Best to move on and find a clinic that suits you (and you communication style) better.

I think the smart play now is to let the dust settle and move on OP..no more “he said ,she said” etc etc 

it’s a small enough industry ..most reputable surgeons the likes of which you would ideally like to work on you next ..will consider you to much of a liability to proceed with if this goes on .

Took me half an hour to understand the case. @daz 2, buddy surely, you're at fault here. I am very clear that blood investigations are important and as Eugenix said they have sent it to you via email, you should have gone through it as it was you who was going to be operated on. My question is why on earth have you booked all these before getting your blood tests done as again eugenix said they have informed you earlier. 

To an extent, i feel that If there is some other clinic then definitely you will remain unrefunded. My advice is to get in touch with them directly, take your refund and research your way out for a clinic. Best of Luck, let me know if i can be of any help to you. TBH, you diverted this thread and tried to misslead the audience, getting the refund asap is best for you.

The part below says you shall be required to perform ......,.. and covid pcr test. There is absolutely no mention of it having to be sent in pdf format or actually sending in the report. In fact as the covid pcr is stated within it and you are required to do that when you are arrive at the surgery it certainly does make it look like they do those when you arrive. 

When I went to Turkey, they did blood tests when I was there.

Surely, there should be one line that says "You have to get blood pressure checked and the following blood tests - platelets etc AND send us the report.

and another that says

You will be required to do covid pcr test on arrival?

Are you being contrarian or just a little dim here?

Surely any rational, intelligent person could deduce that you have to submit the results of any testing and not just a “yea trust me bro I did the tests and it’s all good”. 
 

But yes, maybe it would help the hard of thinking if it stipulated outright that you actually have to send the report over. 
 

Like I said, people like you are a nightmare for people in the service industry.

But officer, shouldn't the chips packet say it's 1$ AND you have to hand over the money to the cashier?
