Regular Member Yan bio Posted December 11, 2022 Regular Member Share Posted December 11, 2022 Hey everyone, 5.5 post ht. For the past 1 month i started picking excessive toppik that i had put on my hairline. I did it in a ‘pulling’ motion, and sometimes i think i accidentally pulled hairs with my fingers. I’m afraid of traction alopecia.. do you think it will grow back?
Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted December 11, 2022 Valued Contributor Share Posted December 11, 2022 It will grow back. Traction alopecia would need constant, consistent pulling on the hair I would imagine. Just wash the Toppik out next time or stop using it. "Traction alopecia needs constant pulling" - sounds logical, yes. Thanks you. About the toppik usage - I still need it to improve a bit posterior to hairline. I usually comb my hair up and this is worst for density and scalp coverage. I'm 5.5 post HT, so I hope density along hairline continues to improve (?), maybe hair caliber will increase and maybe some more hair will pop out (?). Senior Member gillenator Posted December 11, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted December 11, 2022 Both density and caliber maturation should improve in the coming months. 2 Gillenator Independent Patient Advocate I am not a physician and not employed by any doctor/clinic. Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted December 11, 2022 Administrators Share Posted December 11, 2022 I would not worry about transplanted hair this early on, I doubt you’ve caused any significant damage.
