In person consult with EUGENIX

I am booked this incoming week for an in person consult with the founders of Eugenix Dr Sethi & Arika. I am happy to have the opportunity to meet with them in person to have my case evaluated in person. In my experience with US based surgeons, the consults are mainly based on visual assessment. Minimal tools used to check for projected Graft count or donor miniaturization. -a borderline rushed experience. Considering i am a future Norwood 6 with a good beard, I’m curious how eugenix will go about the evaluation. Does anyone have input on the differences between consults done in the US vs eugenix, or clinics in Europe? Also, what key questions should i be bringing up to Dr sethi/arika during the consult?

I know there are a lot of active forum members who had their HT at Eugenix. Curious to see their responses as I am in a similar boat to you.

I went there for a hair transplant but there was no measurements taken with any tools whatsoever that could accurately measure my donor density, hair thickness with micron measurements or miniaturisation rates. It was mostly done by eye.

The doctor told me my density was 50-60cm/2 and i have a medium thickness calibre of hair but this was done moreso than anything on a visual basis than with any specialised equipment.

Personally i think Eugenix are solid and their results certainly speak for themselves but at least to me, they perhaps would benefit from upgrading to more of a quantitative way of measuring candidates.

I know BHR clinic show themselves using much more in depth measures for example and hope Eugenix will adopt these soon.

I too will be seeing them early next week. I’m hoping we can discuss hairline dimensions, thickness etc. Would be great to have a couple of hairlines drawn as this seems to be the area most complained about by HRN patients - being rushed through the process - as Eugenix scales up etc. I was surprised to see @NARMAK’s comment about the limited consultation, and that it was more visual based.

I’m hoping for something more. Eugenix is well known for their successful Norwood 6 / 7 cases and I’m curious as to how exactly they determine candidacy for these type of cases. If it’s all visual, what’s the difference between them and other clinics and why are they so good at high nw surgery?

My personal tip is to try and plan out your hairline design beforehand. I don't think mine necessarily took me as long because i did have a fairly solid idea of what i wanted, however the process even then felt really, really fast. The day before, we didn't draw out the hairline, but the doctor sat with me, we talked about the hairline design and i showed her pictures of what i wanted to achieve and also what i didn't want to happen. I think it was almost certainly taken on board.

I think if i had taken probably a little bit longer in hindsight on the day of the OP or even if i had asked for it on the 2nd day, i would have adjusted the right temple to look a bit more like the left but when it's all grown out, i don't think it will bother me at all hopefully. Its more of a micro thing and maybe my desire for a more symmetrical hairline design even with the temples.

However i think the micro and macro irregularities made it look completely normal.  I would certainly say in terms of the initial design i think the Dr seemed to have knocked it out the park. I'm just hoping the results are also going to follow the same way and i'm cautiously optimistic and taking the journey day by day. Especially as i head towards month 2 for the ugly duckling phase to swing into full effect.

You should note down all of your questions (so that you do not miss out on any topic) and bring them along for a proper and detailed consultation. You can ask the doctors whatever is on your mind.
