Regular Member vancan Posted June 7, 2022 Author Regular Member Share Posted June 7, 2022 (edited) All the scabs came off. observed lots thin of particles over the scalp last couples of days which i thought it might be dandruff. when reached out to clinic, they confirmed its dead skin coming up. I have few questions for forum members and looking for your advice 1) I usually used to have very oily skin and dandruff(some times like small patches/layers of it, Dr Priya mentioned about folliculitis or something, which couldn't get a chance with talk her while i was there after the procedure).thats why used wash hair more often almost everyday. would you specifically recommend any shampoo that i can use to treat oily skin and also dandruff which i can use on regular basis? 2) Considering the oily skin/hair, Do you recommend applying hair oil and if it is yes, any specific kind? 2) i was never on finasteride before. started using it this week. what would be the recommended dosage to start with? Clinic confirmed that i can use it every day a week( 7* 1mg). but as per my understanding for other folks, who advised me to start off with 3 times a week (3 * 1mg). Is there a recommended dosage that i can use to save the existing and transplanted hair? or does it vary from person to person based on how they react to it? 3) I have used minoxidil 5% for a brief period in the past. As per clinic, they mentioned that if i am taking Finasteride on regular basis that is more than enough and i don't need to use it necessarily. and also mentioned that i can use it 3-4 months after procedure( based on doctors recommendation). whats your thoughts on this? Can i start using minoxidil along with finasteride or just stop it for now and start using it after 3-4 months? Hi bud, glad you managed to get the scabs off but yes, dandruff is the bane of both our lives lol. 1) I personally haven't been washing my hair everyday but i have used Dove moisture shampoo when i washed my hair and i set the temperature to be more cool. I also have been using Castor Oil on the hair to help massage the scalp where i have my native hair and gently on the recipient area where there's transplanted hair and using fingers to gently lift any dandruff away from the scalp. 2) The recommended dosage varies from people to people based on what they can tolerate. Usually starting off on a lower dose or less times per week like 3x 1mg can help your body adjust slowly and then you can add to it. It's up to you and whatever you feel comfortable doing and will help you hopefully. 3) Minoxodil is probably something others can comment on when they used it but have seen others use it quite early on to promote growth. Just one word of warning for you and people like us, apparently the Minoxodil formula for like Kirkland liquid contains alcohol which can aggravate dandruff further. It dries the scalp. That's why some people use the foam version instead. I got told not to use T-Gel or my usual shampoo until 3 months as well. Maybe they're being super cautious with the hair survival and that's a crucial period. So far, the Dove shampoo and Castor Oil is keeping my dandruff at bay but i might also start using the conditioner a bit more too to help keep the scalp moisturised a bit more. 1 Follow my first Hair Transplant Journey! Wow, that's looking solid for the 29 day mark. Your frontal hairline and temples look to have held on to quite a few grafts and it just looks like naturally thinner hair. Just be prepared for Months 2 and 3, i'm heading into that myself soon lile you and its pretty much going to be hopefully the worst it will ever be and then hopefully going a better direction. Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted June 22, 2022 Valued Contributor Share Posted June 22, 2022 Hi @vancan You look spot on at one month so brace yourself for the ugly duckling phase. It's nice though during the first month to get an idea of what your hair will look like. In regards to washing your hair don't feel that you have to be bound by any hard and fast rules. I found that my scalp post op was very dry and washing it with any type of shampoo was just drying out the scalp even more. My solution was to just not wash my hair/scalp more than once a week for the first two months at least. Again everyone is different. Nizoral 2% can really dry the scalp out also as it's obviously a medicated shampoo. So I am only now able to use it three times a week. I'm using topical 5% minoxidil now but I only started at the beginning of month four. Anything before this and it would have dried out my scalp. Trial error is really the only way to know how your scalp is. Your donor looks excellent as does the work. Thanks for sharing and all the best! Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted September 1, 2022 Valued Contributor Share Posted September 1, 2022 Looking right on point. I would speak with Eugenix but for myself I would be going back on minoxidil at this stage (I’m not a doctor though). Looking forward to seeing your results from month 5 onwards. I found a big change from month four at that stage. Thanks for sharing! I asked them set up a call with Dr Das just to review the 3 months progress and also to discuss about minoxidil. Senior Member general-etwan Posted September 12, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted September 12, 2022 What’s the significance of the multivitamin given to you by the clinic? Unless you have a significant deficiency in diet and lifestyle multivitamins are unnecessary and wasteful and most people do not have any need to take them. Minoxidil use isn’t endorsed by Eugenix but it could possibly help a little nonetheless as it’s proven to do (act as a hair simulator; not a fix to the genetic makeup that causes MPB). As for how soon it can be used after, I’ve seen some people start 1 month after transplant and some wait 3 months. Not sure. But 3 months is surely long enough on the safe side. 1 Instagram: ethanlculver Eugenix (Drs.
