raymondo272
Hi, So I am 2 weeks after my 2000 graft FUE operation. There's a gap/space between my natural hairline and the new transplanted hairline and its concerning me. The clinic said they had to use a razor to shave off some of the hairline during the operation as the hair was in the way. The hair in that area are very slowly regrowing... I have Googled some progress photos and did not come across any that were similar to me. Does anyone know if this is a common thing or am I getting worried over nothing? I'm unsure why didn't just transplant some into those areas too.. Thanks in advance Edited January 25, 2022 by raymondo272
Senior Member HappyMan2021 Posted January 25, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted January 25, 2022 Clinic and surgeon name please? IMO the surgeon under-estimated the # of grafts needed and simply ended the surgery when he ran out of grafts! An ethical surgeon would have filled it all in regardless of the pre-surgery graft estimate. But your guy was probably thinking he's not going to insert any additional grafts for free, even thought its his fault, not the patients, for the underestimation. He literally knew he was sentencing you to a 2nd follow up procedure before the 1st surgery was even over. Don't go back I hope there will be no other issues beyond this with your HT, given this doc seems really unskilled and uncaring for leaving you like this,
Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted January 25, 2022 Administrators Share Posted January 25, 2022 There does appear to be a space, was this discussed before the surgery? What was the plan and consultation? Quote I was just an inch away from booking a a hairmill based on google reviews before i stumbled upon this goldmine of a forum. Regular Member Smacias15 Posted January 25, 2022 Regular Member Share Posted January 25, 2022 (edited) This doesn't look like 2000 grafts either, looks less. But I could be wrong. Looks 1500-1800 Edited January 25, 2022 by Smacias15
DairyMilk
The first photo looks to show the grafts not placed up to the line which was drawn? Best to get in contact with the clinic to raise these concerns. Which clinic/surgeon?
raymondo272
This was a clinic I went to in Turkey which I'll reframe from naming for the moment for a one off procedure. I contacted the clinic after 1 week to make them aware of this but they responded that I had nothing to worry about and that it was intentionally shaved off with a razor so it will take a bit longer to grow back. It's been about 20 days now so I would assume by now I would see some growth and fill out the space. I also thought that they ran out of grafts which is why there's space...The new hair themselves look and feel good at the moment but just the manner of the shape of the new hairline itself. I'm starting to conclude that they botched this TP and/or that I've been scammed. I hope I'm wrong and try to remain a bit optimistic that the hair will grow and its not actually part of my original receding hairline. Will have to patiently wait for now..
