Senior Member ITA Posted November 18, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted November 18, 2021 Yes, it occurs in the donor area, but it is still too early to know whether it is over haversting or shock loss, you have to wait more or less the third month after the transplant. Senior Member JohnCasper Posted November 18, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted November 18, 2021 I'm assuming your surgeon only took grafts from the left side of your head (based on the pictures)? I would have thought he would take equal number of grafts from the left and right side of your head. Could be shock-loss. I had no discernible shock-loss but many do. Time will tell. Hang in there. Could be just fine in a few short months. I am an online representative for Carolina Hair Surgery & Dr. Mike Vories (Recommended on the Hair Transplant Network). Senior Member BDK081522 Posted November 18, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted November 18, 2021 We would need immediate post op pictures of the full extraction zone to see the pattern. With this information we could make an educated guess as to what you're dealing with. In my opinion if the extraction zone was the full donor area and not just the left side as shown, then it's shock loss. However, if all 2800 grafts were taken from just this area shown there's potential it was over harvested. Senior Member Britanium Posted November 18, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted November 18, 2021 If all 2800 grafts were taken from that particular area then I would say it’s likely to be over harvested. And could even be a combination of over harvesting and shock loss. But yeh we need more pics and more details please 🙏
