Bad experience at a Turkish Hair Transplant Plant Clinic

Ish

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I basically had a FUE hair transplant at a clinic in Istanbul Turkey. The name of the clinic is 'ESTETIK MED. I had the transplant in 2016. The crown aria was fully bald. Sadly I have lost 95% of the transplanted hairs. I'm very sad and depressed. I contacted the Dr. He says to come over and he will do another transplant which ofcourse I have to pay for.

Has anyones in here had any experience with this clinic 'ESTETIK MED. please message me if so.

Take care guys.

Under no circumstances go back to the Dr/hairmill. How many grafts did you have taken?

Look for a decent Dr for your next procedure. Don’t go to another hairmill/poor clinic.. We can help guide you !

This. Don't return to any doctor or clinic that fell short of your expectations. Perhaps you can provide us with more info, such as pics pre and post transplant from 2016, how many grafts, any meds you are on, age, etc. They would help other members analyze why you may have lost most of your gains from the HT.

Unfortunately you will have gone to one of the many pseudo clinics in Turkey, post some photos, especially of your current situation, and you will see that the most experienced members will help you choose a clinic / surgeon to solve your problem.

5 years is a fairly long period, to be able complain now to the clinic, this is usually done after 12 to 16 months, because the first results are already visible in the period 5-8 months, and the final 12 to 16.

In order for someone to be able to comment on your case more easily, and give you some specific suggestions, it would be good to post pictures before the operation and the situation after 8-12 months, and the current situation.

Many clinics, which are moral, honest, professionall in work, are fair to the patients, and tell them that in the first phase if the area is larger with hairloss, they will first work on covering the front and middle scalp, and in the second session crown, so that it depends on what you agreed with that clinic, I think there are more unknowns here, so write a little more details, post the appropriate pictures, so that the HRN member can give you some advice and help.

Yes, this is also true.

Do you have any pre-op pictures? Is it possible that you lost the native hairs after 5 years which were adding density to transplanted hair? Or was your frontal area completely bald prior to HT

Were you happy with growth in a year time after transplant ? Is there a reason you didnt inform doctor about the problem earlier . It is strange for someone to loose transplanted hair after 4-5 years unless they were extracted from non MPB safe donor region. Since this was your first transplant I do not see any reason why donor hair will not be extracted from safe zones as there should have been enough. Is it just a bad transplant or is it also something to do with your physiology. Before you go for another procedure its better to try to find the cause of the issue. Make sure that you do not have retrograde MPB.

I heard an interview with Hattingen recently where they discussed the regression of the industry and how results from other clinics that they're seeing now are, on average, worse than they were in 2012.

Hair mills like this, I think, are a big part of this regression.

What most people don't realize is that Turkey is still a profoundly impoverished country -- the average salary there is $300 a MONTH. 11% live below the poverty line putting it right around the level of Costa Rica. And their medical industry has extremely poor oversight, particularly for medical tourism as they have a heavily nationalistic political system.

Of course they will tell you what you want to hear until they get your money. Then once you're done -- goodbye stranger, it's been nice. There are no repercussions for them if they screw up. They have everything to gain and you have everything to lose.

If you can't afford a hair transplant, don't get it. Good surgeons are expensive for a reason.
