Previously Transplanted Hairs & Shock Loss

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I am doing a small FUE surgery to move my hairline down a bit further. The FUE’s will be placed right by previously transplanted hairs (not by weaker natural hairs).

Will the previously transplanted hairs suffer shock loss? Aren’t they stronger than natural hairs?

Seeing many views and no replies. New to this forum. Had my original procedure 17 years ago. Is this an unreasonable question?

Everyone is different but I had bad shockloss after all my procedures even the previous transplanted hair! Although another guy that went to the same doctor had none. So prepare for it, and if it doesn’t happen consider yourself lucky! Good luck!!

If you suffer shock loss of terminal hairs those will likely come back as long as there has been no transection. Hairs that were thinning/miniaturizing may not come back if they are subject to shock loss. Temporary shock loss isn't ideal, but not the end of the world.

Yes, the existing transplanted hairs can be shocked, but they are probably not as vulnerable as miniaturized native hair.
