Senior Member Rossybop Posted May 31, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted May 31, 2021 Is there any effective alternatives to finasteride? If not, will there be any new treatments in years to come?
Senior Member TorontoMan Posted May 31, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted May 31, 2021 Topical dut, fluridil, Soon to be a few products coming from companies called Hopemed and Kintor and cloning looks like it will be in trial for a few other companies as well.
Senior Member Rossybop Posted May 31, 2021 Author Senior Member Share Posted May 31, 2021 Cool man. I've never heard of fluidil, I'll go research it. I wonder is topical dut good and does it have side effects. I'm excited by the idea of alternatives because I'd love to have a really effective treatment with no sides. I'm on fin and although I don't think I'm too badly affected by it I have noticed a lower libido and runny fluids.
Senior Member nicoandgello Posted June 1, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted June 1, 2021 Dutasteride is the usual progression from finasteride. If you want to go even harder than that, you could try anti-androgens, Spironolactone, Cyproterone Acetate and Bicalutamide are the most common. CPA causes least estrogenic side effects. Im planning to get on bicalutamide later this year myself. IMO the best thing people here can hope for the future, are topicals that either bind to receptor to destroy it, or things that can grow hair even better than Minoxiddil like KY19382. This forum is more transplant related tho, so you should go to HLT, people there are more interested in treating hairloss with pharmaceuticals.
