Best FUT surgeon for brown and straight hair

Hey everyone,

I'm doing my research and looking for a doctor that has experience with dense packing on brown hair. I will be 21 this year and I am not planing to have HT for at least another 2 years. My hair loss started at around 18, I lost my hairline very fast, and I didn't notice it till later because I usually have long hair with fringe. Currently I am Norwood 1.5 on my left temple and Norwood 2.5 on my right temple. It's very uneven and I will want to correct that in the future. I realise I most likely won't get good results on first transplant cause my density everywhere else is really high. Doctors I was thinking about are:

1. Dr Diep

2. Dr Bloxham

3. Dr Laorwong

4. Dr Konior

5. Dr Hasson

I am from eastern europe. I know that I have Dr Feriduni and Bisanga in Europe, but they mostly do FUE right now, and I feel like I would like to go to clinic that does mostly FUT.

I started Finasteride 1.25 mg on January 8th, nizoral like 6 months ago and just ordered Oral Minoxidil.

I would like to hear your opinion, thanks.

Have you consulted with any of these surgeons? I definitely suggest submitting consultations and speaking to each doctor. I’d add Dr. Cooley to that list.

The colour of the hair/hair type doesnt impact the result - especially with FUT as youre cutting out a strip and leaving the grafts intact.

In terms of FUT the best work ive seen in terms of scarring are Konior and Hasson. Both have around 30 years experience as well. Bloxham has been doing some great work too, whereas although im a great admirer of Laorwong (and Dr Path who I believe trained him) sadly I havent seen many of their FUT patient results. Diep has a few cases of stretched scars with FUT (I believe a few are on the forum) so I probably wouldnt add him to that list.

Given your age and potential progression of balding youre probably going to want to go conservative, so maybe maybe Konior who tends to cap out around 2-3k might be a better choice.

TBH its probably best to get a consult with all and see what type of responses you get

Thanks for reply. I pointed out that I have brown and straight hair because from what I understand it's pretty much impossible to have good illusion on your first transplant. My list is mostly made this way because of financial reasons, so as much as I would like to get my HT with Konior his current prices seem too high for me. I agree that Dr Hasson is a world class doctor, but recently his results are made with very high graft numbers. Dr Diep seems like a guy for me, but his FUT and FUE scars look scary but the results on the other hand are great, propably the best in the world.

Sorry didnt realise you were still 20. Admittedly Its very young to get a HT with most clinics being uncomfortable performing surgery until 25.

Its really tough to predict your NW level a such a young age, and lowering your hairline/how you respond to medications is still a bit hypothetical. Id still consider getting consults, but without seeing your photos here its really better at this stage to simply monitor your progression.

Yeah, not gonna get a HT for at least 2 years. My hair loss has stopped 2 years ago and if in the future it won't progress I will just do it, no point in waiting till some made up number IMO

I have not look at Dr Cooley before, will check him out. I didn't consult any doc yet as I will not get HT in near future and don't want to bother them right now.

Have you looked at Rahal? I have a feeling you’ll really like his hairlines. It was rumored he stopped FUT, but that was squashed by @andrew11

I think I might be the only one in the world, but I don't like his hairlines at all.

Fair enough, he’s usually known for his ultra-dense hairlines. I’d also add Shapiro to your list, he wrote the book on hairlines literally.

Without pics its just us guessing, but given your age it might just be the progression of a mature hairline

I will post pics this year, right now my hair are 4.5 cm long and it's hard for me to show it in correct way. I will have to wait till they are longer or just maybe buzz it, but I did 2 months ago and still regret it.

Thanks Melvin, i have seen Dr Shapiro work, but he seems really conservative, nothing wrong, it's just hard to compare his work to what I want I guess.

I just did second Fut with Dr Diep and I have to say my scar was unnoticeable. I got a little bit of stretch back because I went to the gym a month after but this second go I plan on staying cautious for at least 6 months. So far the liner scar is pencil thin and donor area looks great. I highly recommend Dr Diep from experiencing to procedures.
