Recommended Turkish Clinics for Afro-Curl Patterning?

Hello all, I'm new here and I am in serious need of help. I usually don't do this but there is something I just can't find a straight answer on.

I'll [try to] keep this short. Starting out, I was deadset on heading to Asli Tarcan or Hair of Istanbul as soon as possible but as I learned more and more about hairmills and technician led surgeries, my alarm bells went off. I transitioned into looking at specific doctors. But, the issue soon reared its head. Black people, by and large, do not go to seasoned doctors as much as white people do. So the bulk of afro results are within hair mill plastic surgery clinics, luring them in with cheap prices. Perhaps some of these clinics' results aren't so bad. Personally, I don't want to take that chance.

Anyhow, as I started looking at doctors, I noticed how they had an extreme lack in afro results. So I began putting actual results on the back burner and began looking at the qualifications of the doctor himself. I didn't want to but it seems like to have a [turkish] transplant, I had no choice. My budget isn't massive (around 5000USD or so) so I had to make a compromise.

I Narrowed my selections down to these few:

Dr. Aygin Serkan

Dr. Emrah Cinik

Dr. Koray Erdogan

Dr. Demirsoy

Dr. Acar (Cosmedica)

(Longshot: Eugenix)

i've heard some amazing things about Demirsoy and I am on the verge of putting him on my top 3.

as for the rest, iv'e heard some mixed to negative things about the rest, especially for Cinik and Acar. Serkan I have heard very little about but what I have heard was not positive. I am most interested in the final verdict on ASMED clinic. It is my understanding that Dr. Koray has been embroiled in drama relating to patient after care and legal action on both sides. I'm not going to write him off so easily. He is one of the few I have seen achieve extremely natural afro results however I feel that it needs thorough investigation before I pull the trigger on him. What is the general verdict on his work here? I'm actually most interested in him and he is also pretty damn close to being on the top 3. I really just want an affordable doctor that has a good history with afro hair.

Thank you all in advance.

Hair details: Norwood 2-3, moderate crown thinning, no medication

In my honest opinion having seen many Afro results over the years I would say Dr Bisanga and Dr Diep are doing the best work. Maybe Bisanga is worth consulting with ?
I know you mentioned your budget, but it’s definitely worth saving for.

I'm actually in chat with an acquaintance who went to Diep in 2014 and I must say his results are less than stellar to say the least. He had a combination of fut and fue and it doesn't even look as if he had a transplant at all. He is currently looking for a clinic to do a repair job.

There are plenty of results since then that show really good work from Diep. I’m surprised someone had a less than stellar result. Although as you have probably noticed all clinics can occasionally have poorer results.
Out of the people on your list I have seen good work from Erdogan also. Pretty sure there is a very recent one actually. And although I love Eugenix’s work, the Afro results just aren’t that special.
Cinik had a poor Afro result on here a couple of months ago.

Afro hair is trickier to work with because it can curl underneath the skin, making it difficult to extract. I would recommend going to an afro hair specialist like Dr. Bisanga or Dr. Lupanzula. Good luck.

Medication for Male Pattern Baldness: Topical Dutasteride - Topical Minoxidil 5% - Ketoconazole Shampoo

Medication for Cicatricial Alopecia: Hydroxychloroquine  - Topical Clobestasol - Doxycycline

What is the price range of Lupanzula or Bisanga if you know?

I believe Bisanga is 3-4 per graft, depending on which clinic you go too. For more details reach out to @Raphael84

Just got in contact with Dr. Demirsoy for a consultation. Waiting for a reply. I was told by Hair of Istanbul that while my hairline could be restored, they did not want to implant grafts into my vertex and crown because, while they were both thinning, the density was still too high and put my existing hair at risk. I'm assuming that the risk is necrosis. I really appreciated their honest opinion but decided to ask Demirsoy for a consultation just for some additional confirmation. HOI remains the only clinic to even say this to me after about a dozen consultations from other clinics. If Demirosy feels differently I may head with him instead. In any case, this is good news in a way as it confirms that no matter the scenario, my required graft count is bound to be extremely low.

I've included pictures of the high priority areas. the area between the crown and vertex feels thin to the touch as well but I'm confident I can use twice yearly botox to hold onto it for a very long time.

Some of the hair surrounding those two 'patches' also feels thin to the touch...again, I think that Botox or finasteride will be enough to fix that though.

Are you on finasteride? There is someone who had a similar hair loss in the crown and had an HT @Chances101 you may want to check out his thread.

I was on finasteride for 3 or so months in 2019, didn't notice much change because I didn't stick with it long enough I think. I really wanted really crisp hairline and knew that fin wouldn't really give me that because I was already norwood 2 by that point so I dropped it and focused all energy on researching the transplant and saving money. A rash decision as I could have potentially put my crown area in a better position. u live u learn. it's far from too late though so it's not the end of the world. I just need to decide what I want my routine to be. I really prefer Botox over fin even if it is more costly. It's only twice yearly rather than a pill every single day and the results last longer.
