Update on using topical Fin i.e. Maxogen

So, finally I got my first bottle of topical fin i.e. Maxogen from and after one month of using 0.5ml on alternate days - I'm experiencing reduced libido.

Recommended dose is 1ml everyday and I only used 0.5 ml every other day and still libido is down. For now I have stopped it and see if things recover quickly the next week or so. Will report back.

Not saying this is the reason, but I think you need to be ultra conservative when starting any form of fin. I say this because a few years ago, after having not taken any fin for 6 months to a year, I bought a generic version and stupidly jumped into 1mg daily and I got terrible sides that persisted until just recently. This was 8 years after no problems on propecia or proscar.

I am guessing you're talking about Maxogen-x from Minoxidil Max? I considered starting with that but I thought the 0.1% of fin plus 7% minox was a bit strong....so I started with the Essegen 6 plus which is 6% of minox and 0.05% of fin. I started with only one per week and even now 4 months later I only take it 3 times a week. Your fin is twice as strong as mine and you have been taking more of it....I don't think that's enough time for your body to slowly adjust.

I would recommend leaving it for a month and then buying the Essegen 6 plus. Because it's weaker they say you should take it twice a day to get the dose but I only take it once and have had excellent results. I do have a bottle of the Maxogen too but plan to slowly work my way up to that.

2,000 grafts FUT Dr. Feller, July 27th 2012. 23 years old at the time. Excellent result. Need crown sorted eventually but concealer works well for now.

Propecia and minoxidil since 2010. Fine for 8 years - bad sides after switching to Aindeem in 2018.

Switched to topical fin/minox combo from Minoxidil Max in October 2020, along with dermarolling 1x a week.

Good to hear Tommy. By excellent results are you saying you have had regrowth or just the hair looking stronger/thicker?
