Kikito Posted January 6, 2021 Share Posted January 6, 2021 Hello Guys, i've heard that one should avoid consuming caffeine after a hairtransplant? Is caffeine consumption itself harmful to hair? (Im really struggling not to drink any caffeine...) If not: When can i drink caffeine without harming the hair? I hope you can enlighten me. Senior Member UnbaldEagle Posted January 7, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted January 7, 2021 There was a study years ago showing that moderate caffeine consumption significantly decreased cerebral blood flow, which is crucial for the new grafts in the first few days. That being said it's weird but it doesn't seem to be on the banned list like smoking, alcohol according to most surgeons. But just to be safe I drank decaff in the first week or so. For as long as I can remember I've had anywhere from 4-6 shots of espresso a day. I did not stop my habit at all for 2 previous HTs, and not see any impact on growth.
