Regular Member FUE2020 Posted November 18, 2020 Regular Member Share Posted November 18, 2020 Hi everyone, just made this account. I had an 1800 graft robotic FUE completed 9 days ago. I am concerned with the density (lack of) and miniaturized hair, especially around the temples. The clinic is reputable and the Doctor wanted a natural result but I am anxious about the final outcome. I know it’s too early to tell, which is why I wanted to get another set of eyes on it.I’ve followed all care instructions to the T. Does this look normal or am I overreacting? Below are pics of day 9 and one from before the op. I was a Norwood 3/4a at 27 YO.
Senior Member deitel130 Posted November 18, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted November 18, 2020 Do you have pics from top down prior to transplant? From these pics it seems that the entire frontal third was done. Is that correct?
Regular Member FUE2020 Posted November 18, 2020 Author Regular Member Share Posted November 18, 2020 That is correct. I have pretty good density from the very top of my head backwards so no work there was needed.
Senior Member deitel130 Posted November 18, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted November 18, 2020 You may have shed already and that is why it may look like there isn't enough. 1800 for the frontal third is slightly on the lighter side. Since the front frames your face and is what you see first you may want to thicken it up later. 2500 - 3000 would have been better for the entire frontal third if you wanted good density. Wait to see how it grows out and you can always get a second pass with another 1200 grafts if needed. Who was the surgeon?
Regular Member FUE2020 Posted November 18, 2020 Author Regular Member Share Posted November 18, 2020 That’s what I was thinking as well. Since I am young I will likely have other areas to cover in the future. Dr. Ken Anderson in Atlanta.
Senior Member deitel130 Posted November 18, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted November 18, 2020 Yeah you can always have another pass over it. Best of luck and happy growing the next 12 months.

Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted November 19, 2020 Administrators Share Posted November 19, 2020 I think you’re having some buyers remorse. Looks like the grafts have shed. 1,800 grafts isn’t a lot of grafts for that area, but you should get some good improvement. At this point, it’s just the waiting game, trust in the process. Regular Member FUE2020 Posted November 19, 2020 Author Regular Member Share Posted November 19, 2020 Yeah I can concede to that. The upside is that my hairs in general are pretty thick when grown in. I’m definitely excited to see how it turns out. But I appreciate all the feedback.
Senior Member BDK081522 Posted November 19, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted November 19, 2020 The work looks clean and grafts look healthy. Most robotic cases don't look as nice as yours does. I do agree that 1800 for the area covered is a bit light so you'll probably need another session to achieve a high density restoration. Enjoy the journey! 1 Bosley 11-2016 FUE - 1,407 grafts Dr. Diep 09-2017 FUE - 2,024 grafts Dr. Konior 03-2020 FUE - 2,076 grafts Dr. Konior 09-2021 FUE - 697 scalp to scalp, FUE - 716 beard to beard Total scalp FUE - 6,204 grafts
Regular Member FUE2020 Posted November 19, 2020 Author Regular Member Share Posted November 19, 2020 (edited) How much time is ideal in between procedures? I imagine it’s condition-based? Edited November 19, 2020 by FUE2020
Senior Member BDK081522 Posted November 19, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted November 19, 2020 Well, you want to give the grafts enough time to mature to allow the surgeon optimal visual conditions to figure out which areas need greater density. This takes anywhere from 12-18 months. However, if you're growing on a relatively normal trajectory I think you'd be okay to have another procedure at 11-12 months post-op. 1 Bosley 11-2016 FUE - 1,407 grafts Dr. Diep 09-2017 FUE - 2,024 grafts Dr. Konior 03-2020 FUE - 2,076 grafts Dr. Konior 09-2021 FUE - 697 scalp to scalp, FUE - 716 beard to beard Total scalp FUE - 6,204 grafts
Regular Member FUE2020 Posted November 19, 2020 Author Regular Member Share Posted November 19, 2020 Thanks for the feedback. when do you recommend I am safe to dermapen the recipient area? If at all?
Senior Member BDK081522 Posted November 20, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted November 20, 2020 I would probably wait until the 8th month just to be safe. But that's probably more on the conservative side. 1 Bosley 11-2016 FUE - 1,407 grafts Dr. Diep 09-2017 FUE - 2,024 grafts Dr. Konior 03-2020 FUE - 2,076 grafts Dr. Konior 09-2021 FUE - 697 scalp to scalp, FUE - 716 beard to beard Total scalp FUE - 6,204 grafts
Regular Member FUE2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Author Regular Member Share Posted December 3, 2020 Hi everyone. Two weeks later, the grafts seem to have shed and are continuing to shed. I was wondering if the below pics look normal: The area is not red at all which is a good thing? Also there are spots in between grafts where no follicle is visible. Is this because is has fallen out and is now in the sleeping stage? Meaning I won’t see a black speck under the skin indicating the follicle is present? thank you all for your patience and feedback.
