Recommendations for Experienced Hair Transplant Surgeons

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am looking for recommendations regarding a hair transplant surgeon who specializes in FUE and FUT. I am leaning more toward FUE.

I recently had a hair transplant that went very wrong in very many ways and I am hoping to find somebody who can make me feel like myself again. When I received my hair transplant, I believe larger grafts were utilized instead of many small ones, like most surgeons do these days.

To give you an idea, I had my surgery done with Natural Transplants. I thought there HUE (High-Yeild Unit Extraction) method was comparable to the FUT method, in that they just take more tissue (a larger strip) from the donor area. However, I know realize when they reference more tissue, it’s larger grafts resulting in a very unnatural appearance (and they call them selves  Natural Transplants). I am really upset and this has been really hard on me. I am trying not to beat myself up as I unfortunately did do research before picking my surgeon. I just didn’t know the questions to ask and what to look for.

Not only is the recipient area a mess, but so is the donor. I have train-track scarring from my FUT or “HUE” procedure. I am looking for somebody who could possibly take the larger grafts in the recipient area and break them into smaller ones, but I am really worried about scarring. Speaking of scarring, I would also like to fix my donor scar and have hair transplanted into the area. Unfortunately, after my experience I am scared to get another strip transplant, but know that it could be a better option two replace my scar with the smaller scar and fix my recipient area.

I am highly interested in surgeons that utilize PRP within the transplant procedure. I am also highly interested in those who use Acell too, as I was hoping that could help if my larger grafts were broken into smaller ones to reduce scarring?

Any advise is highly appreciated. This procedure has affected my mental health immensely and I just want to feel better. I was looking at Dr. Sean Behnam this time, or Dr. Marc Dauer, but do not want to make the same mistake with my first experience. Any advise and general knowledge is welcome. Please help!

I can see the problems that can arise from outdated mini graft surgery.
