Yorkshire Neil
I had my 4500 transplant with Dr Arshad at the Hair Dr in Feb 2020 having thought about having a transplant for many years but never really being sure if it would work properly or indeed if it was worth the cost and the expected pain. A friend of mine had his hair done by the Hair Dr in 2019 and the results were very good so I thought I'd take the plunge and had a consultation late 2019, I was impressed by the professionalism and relaxed but informative approach to the first meeting so I booked to have the transplant. It's now 9 months since I had the procedure and I'm absolutely delighted with the outcome (see pictures attached). Sure there was a little pain during the actual transplant but the new way that Dr Arshad uses to administer the anaesthetic without using a traditional needle meant that the pain was very tolerable throughout the 13 hour procedure. The recovery phase was fine, there was some discomfort for a few days but nothing to make a fuss about. I was out of the house within a few days and after one month I was pretty much back to normal albeit my hair was very short at that time as it got shaved for the procedure. After about 3 months the results start to become noticeable and after 6 months it starts to look great. I'm now 9 months on from the procedure and everyone I know has been extremely complimentary about it including hairdressers and barbers (and they know a thing or two about hair!). Several people have said I look 10 years younger! I'm now using styling products on my hair for the first time in years and I no longer need to wear a hat to keep my head warm in cooler weather - it's the gift that keeps on giving

Regular Member Hairgain22 Posted November 12, 2020 Regular Member Share Posted November 12, 2020 I’ve never heard of this surgeon, he’s in the UK, that’s great. Seems like the UK has overpriced hacks for the most part. I will research this doc closely. Any one know the cost?

Senior Member Britanium Posted November 12, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted November 12, 2020 Ok we have our fair share of hair mills here in the Uk. But these days we also have the Hair Dr (Arshad), Dr Ed Ball and Dr Reddy. That’s the only ones I would even consider personally.

Yorkshire Neil
Here’s some of my own photos too. It seems strange now when I look back at the ‘before’ photos as the difference is so incredible.

Yorkshire Neil
Hi Runner, I considered travelling abroad for a cheaper procedure but when I weighed up the other factors such as quality and comfort, I felt that a reasonable UK price point was worth paying. My experience of the Hair Dr is that he genuinely cares about the customer experience so he focuses on ways to minimise the discomfort- for example the administering the anaesthetic without using a needle (phew!). It’s also worth noting the Dr Arshad had a transplant last year at his own clinic so he knows what it feels like to be on the receiving end. A friend of mine went to Turkey and his experience sounded more like he was on a conveyer belt so the clinics could maximise the numbers of procedures performed each day - the after care was minimal and he was in considerable discomfort for a few days. Also I would never say this to him but whilst his looks good, I think mine looks better 😀. The Hair Dr takes time to get the best result with the least pain - for me that was worth paying a little extra for (and I got to sleep in my own bed on the day of the procedure 😀).
