rohair
Hi people. I recently discovered this great forum where I can share my experience after a hair transplant surgery. At the end of July 2020 I had this operation because I suffer from male pattern baldness and my hair line had receded a lot in the last few years. The doctor said will not charge me for the grafts number but depending on how many days of intervention i need (i paid 3.5k for 1 day). For this reason i am not sure about number of grafts, (but I am seeing a lot of experienced people in this forum so you can estimate that would be great). I will post few pictures bellow so you guys can tell me your opinion about what I achieved so far. I do not have any good pictures before the operation but I uploaded few photos taken during procedure so you can see how my hairline looked before. Day of operation donor after 2 days donor after 6 days hairline 2 hours after operation 6 days post op 11 days post op after 17 and 21 days 2 months post op 12 weeks post op At the moment the donor area is absolutely fine, no concern here. I didn't experience any swelling, and the shedding started around 4 weeks after op. My hairline was never so low and straight so me and the doctor agreed to keep a natural design. Now, at 3 months i think i can see a little growth compared to 2nd month, also the redness is almost gone completely. The doctor told me that my donor area is very good and i have many grafts with 2 or more hair (check the 11 days post op photo). The waiting is so difficult and the growth slow but i think after 3 more months i will see if it was worth it, because at the moment i think my hair looks more or less the same as before the procedure. i would like to hear your opinion about my journey so far. thanks i will post updates as soon as something noticeable happens. Senior Member Britanium Posted October 20, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted October 20, 2020 Which Dr did you go too? If you ask the clinic they should be able to tell you exactly how many grafts were placed. When you said 3.5k was this $,£,$ ? Thanks 🙏
Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted October 20, 2020 Administrators Share Posted October 20, 2020 I would guess around 2,000 grafts, I’ve never heard of a surgeon not charging per grafts or per hairs. What’s the name of the doctor? Was it carried out by technicians? I’m a paid admin for Hair Transplant Network. I do not receive any compensation from any clinic. My comments are not medical advice. Senior Member Britanium Posted October 20, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted October 20, 2020 I would guess anywhere between 1500 to 2000 grafts. But I’m sure Dr Felix will know! He must, it’s a integral part of the process.
rohair
I will probably ask when i can go for my consultation, at the moment is impossible because i am outside of the country but the number of grafts is not so important for me. I am more curious to hear your opinions how the surgery looks so far. hopefully soon i will have more growth and i will update you with pictures. Senior Member ITA Posted October 20, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted October 20, 2020 In my opinion, the graft density is not that high, but considering that you have been implanted with many double and multiple grafts, the result will certainly not be bad. It is not true that the number of grafts is irrelevant, I think it is very important to know.

Senior Member JohnCasper Posted November 17, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted November 17, 2020 I absolutely agree with others above. The number of grafts is essential information regarding expectations. I had a lot of growth between the 3rd and 4th month so hopefully you will see new growth. Let us know when you find out the actual number of grafts. I am an online representative for Carolina Hair Surgery & Dr. Mike Vories (Recommended on the Hair Transplant Network).
