Regular Member kuboid Posted November 27, 2017 Regular Member Share Posted November 27, 2017 Hi all, I am 2.5 months post my FUE procedure in the crown area. I'm seeing a few hair grafts that have not shed and are neither growing. There is a small area, maybe just one or two grafts that give a needle like pricking sensation when slightly touched. Is this normal? Thanks!
Senior Member Speegs Posted November 27, 2017 Senior Member Share Posted November 27, 2017 Are you conversing with your physician? That's primary. But at 2.5 months usually the nerves have begun to regenerate almost in full, the rule of thumb says it can be as long as 3 months, so part of the healing process could be some tingling. Regular Member kuboid Posted November 27, 2017 Author Regular Member Share Posted November 27, 2017 Well it isn't a tingling sensation. It's just that one graft or two that when I touch it slightly, it feels like a needle prick in the scalp. If not touched, there is nothing, no tingling or prick sensations. Senior Member Speegs Posted November 27, 2017 Senior Member Share Posted November 27, 2017 Reach out your physician, could be nerve related/ healing related, I'm not qualified to say. Bill - Seemiller
kuboid, At 2.5 months, strange sensations in the donor and even recipient area as thing heal and grow is considered normal. I wouldn't expect to see any growth at this point...if you do, that's a real bonus. Hang in there though, you should start seeing some changes within a few months. Best wishes, Bill
Senior Member BlessUp Posted November 28, 2017 Senior Member Share Posted November 28, 2017 You sure your not touching a pimple or ingrown hair since it's on your crown you might not be able to see clearly
Regular Member kuboid Posted November 28, 2017 Author Regular Member Share Posted November 28, 2017 Thanks for the responses. Im guessing it was probably a pimple or an inflammation around a graft. The pain seems to have disappeared today. Ah well guess its all part of the healing.
Senior Member mattj Posted November 29, 2017 Senior Member Share Posted November 29, 2017 What you're describing sounds like something that is very normal and unrelated to your HT. I often feel that pricking sensation in relation to hairs on my scalp, and my face and basically anywhere on my body. I'm betting a lot of people can relate to this. Even my girlfriend has mentioned it. I'm not surprised that it's stopped now as it's always very temporary. I am a patient and representative of Dr Rahal. Senior Member pkipling Posted November 30, 2017 Senior Member Share Posted November 30, 2017 I've had things like this before, not entirely related to my hair transplant, and wonder if it's just an ingrown hair of some sort. It's definitely something you can talk to your surgeon about if you find it particularly alarming. I am a patient advocate for Dr. Parsa Mohebi in Los Angeles, CA.
