Senior Member Transhair Posted October 14, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted October 14, 2016 As long as you dedicate yourself to medications and ensure that your recession has stopped, you can never be too young for a transplant, especially if you're willing to be conservative enough. Senior Member TakingThePlunge Posted October 14, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted October 14, 2016 There are no hard and fast rules about age. It's tough to provide quality advice without photos. Senior Member Tj287 Posted October 14, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted October 14, 2016 27 years old - is this too young for transplant? I had mine done just before my 27th birthday. This was a question I asked David (when he worked there) from H&W before I had mine done. Much like the other posters, he told me there is no 'magic age' and it largely depends on the stability and extent of your hair loss. I had been on meds for over 18 months and my situation had stabilised, plus my hair loss wasn't that extreme. There was also the factor that I had a good donor supply of sufficient quality, which could come in handy in future if i ever need some more work, although obviously I am hoping it doesn't come to this. Senior Member gillenator Posted October 14, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted October 14, 2016 There are a number of factors to evaluate in addition to age that would best determine one's candidacy for a HT procedure, some of which Tj mentioned. Gillenator Independent Patient Advocate I am not a physician and not employed by any doctor/clinic. My opinions are not medical advice, but are my own views which you read at your own risk.
