Video Another DO NOT do this after surgery by Dr. Lindsey

Some of you guys must recall the video I put up a few months ago where my patient got hit by an AIRPLANE a few months out from surgery. I titled it something like "don't do this after your hair transplant..."

Well here's another. This nice, well educated man travelled to see us, had 3000 grafts and was staying across the street at the hotel. Generally we taxi folks over the 200 yards to the hotel. This fellow refused and said he's walk, carrying the pizza we got him so he wouldn't have to leave his hotel til he saw us the next day. He did ask if he could have a drink if he wouldn't take any pain meds....I guess that should have been a tip off that problems were afoot.

The next morning, he said on his walk to the hotel, literally 200-300 yards...that he stopped by the wine store (I guess with his head wrap still on and a fresh transplant) and bought 2 bottles of wine which he consumed while eating pizza and watching the olympics. He said he decided to put a washcloth on his recipient area. NOT in my instructions!

It looked like much of his crown, and a good bit of his hairline up front, and a swath up the middle...had the grafts removed. Similar to a fellow that did the same thing 3 years ago...he wanted to proceed with a second case that morning! He came back at a week with his wife. Now he has great hair...and its so bushy, maybe we'll be ok up front...but I'm betting we'll need to do something along the hairline next summer. AND his wife will have to stay with him the first night next year!

Wow. My heart dropped into the pit of my stomach watching that video. Unbelievable! I'd be very curious to see what he looks like a year from now.
