Senior Member Sam23 Posted May 9, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted May 9, 2016 (edited) Hi I do not want to do any step without sharing opinions and experiences I m planning to try electrolysis on couple of hairs, my target in this stage to see my skin reaction and see if the hair will become finer or it will be totally removed so at least i can redfine the hairline in the future Before that i m afraid from skin irrgularities Under harsh light, the scalp skin seems totally different like i add a new skin layer on my scalp and it has many small dots, so i m assuming if i remove the hair i can remove those dots Also, the left side of hairline is hard like a stone and it is higher than the right side, so i m thinking of cortisone injection it can help Any experience? Should i start now after 10 months or still there is a time for skin enhancement so should i wait ? Edited May 9, 2016 by Sam23
Senior Member gillenator Posted May 10, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted May 10, 2016 Seeing a reputable HT specialist with a solid foundation in dermatology would be of great benefit. It would not hurt to get several opinions before proceeding with anything like that... Gillenator Independent Patient Advocate I am not a physician and not employed by any doctor/clinic. Senior Member Sam23 Posted May 11, 2016 Author Senior Member Share Posted May 11, 2016 Seeing other doctors meaning traveling for only consultations I already saw Dr Bisanga and he advise against electrolysis and recommend Fue punch out However, the cost is so big with travel cost back and forth Dr Cooley advise me if i only want to remove the hair so the FUE is not the way and it should be electrolysis or laser and any irrgularities in the skin can be treated later So there is no firm or one opinion here and no one will now what will happen next if i go in any way
Dr Blake Bloxham
Hi Sam, I completely agree with Gillenator; the more opinions and the more in-person evaluation the better. Obviously I haven't examined your scalp in person, but I'll give you my "two cents:" I've seen patients do both -- FUE out grafts and electrolysis -- and the patients who did electrolysis seemed to be happier with the overall resolution. If you are concerned about irregularities and bumps in the skin, I would be concerned that using FUE to remove the grafts may actually cause some scarring -- albeit likely minimal -- and create additional "irregularities" in the area. Electrolysis and then addressing the skin irregularities directly -- as Dr Cooley mentioned -- may make more sense for your case specifically. You were fortunate to get two opinions from two very good doctors too. Hope this helps! Dr. Blake Bloxham is recommended by the Hair Transplant Network. Senior Member Sam23 Posted May 11, 2016 Author Senior Member Share Posted May 11, 2016 (edited) Thanks Blake I want to test electrolysis on couple of hair to see what will happen but before that i want to treat the skin as much as i can So far i have like ridiging or internal scar maybe on the left side of the hairline like edge, it is hard to show in the picture but you can sense internal bump like stone that happen because failling to dense the hairline i think (nw5 with dense hairline !!!!!!) Also the cobblstonning under the hairs, tiny dots under each hair ( have the same shape of the incesions at time of surgery) Finally the misjudgement of drawing the hairline which does not suit nw 5 at all it super curved, broad and no place for any improvement as it is lower even from my original hairline So i see all the curses of hair transplant happened with me except of FUT line scar I will be the happier person in the world if i can back like before or at least remove the fake hairline This is a pic under light shows the small tiny dots in the skin Is that consider normal thing ? If i was able to remove the hair can those tiny dots being removed also if the hair stop growing, how i can treat them ? Bill - Seemiller
I agree with what the others have said so far. I do strongly recommend consulting one of our recommended physicians, especially one who has a background in dermatology. At that point, a solid plan can be mapped out for you and your individual needs and goals. Best wishes, Bill
