Senior Member Pk-hair Posted February 18, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 18, 2009 Hello, Istead of using your own hair as a donor, can you use someone elses hair or grafts. It came up as a joke with my girlfriend and she said, "You can take my hair". Now she has me saying, REALLY! She has alot of hair that she complains of how much pain it is to care for. Her hair is so thick, when she showers in the morning and it's still wet when she gets home.

Senior Member AMR1 Posted February 18, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 18, 2009 I actually ask Dr Humayum's assistant Shahid this very question after I had my HT in January as I have had 3 HT's and if I wanted more could I get a Donor to Donate Hair? In short the answer was NO!! errrr It was some thing about the body genies not taking to an external genie or something like that. Senior Member Leeson Posted February 18, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 18, 2009 I know of the anti-rejections drugs that are used in organ transplant patients, but I do recall a foreign doctor implanting a donor's hair follicles into a section of his forearm to see if they'd take, and they did. Senior Member Maxxy Posted February 18, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 18, 2009 From what I have read, the transplanted hair would be rejected. That is, without anti rejection drugs to weaken your immune system making it dangerous and impracticle. Also, your girlfriend may have offered but do you really want to put her through surgery and the possible complications in order to get you hair? We are all suffering as you are pal but to me thats a step to far, I wouldn't even consider it.

Senior Member Leeson Posted February 18, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 18, 2009 Inmates on death row? The state could put together a sorta catalog. The patient could visit the prison and thank the condemned prisoner. My Hair Loss Website - Dr. Hasson
Senior Member mmhce Posted February 18, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 18, 2009 The only real future is stem cell research, cloning and gene manipulation. Years to come. Not too sure if in our lifetimes. take care...
Senior Member AMR1 Posted February 21, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 21, 2009 But I thought in early 2001 they said cloning hair was only a few years away? 1600 grafts FUT Mr May (UK) Sept 1996 https://www.wimpoleclinic.com'>https://www.wimpoleclinic.com 1600 grafts FUT Mr May (UK) February 1998 https://www.wimpoleclinic.com 2475 grafts FUT Dr Mohammed Humayun Mohmand (Pakistan) 27th January 2009 http://www.hti.com.pk 3550 Total Grafts (3000 rear donor area & 400 from beard and 150 breast area) FUE & PRP Treatment with Dr Emrah Cinik (ISHRS), Istanbul, Turkey. 10th October 2017 http://www.emrahcinik.com/ My Blog & Hair loss website story: https://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=1123
Senior Member Leeson Posted February 21, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 21, 2009 How is it Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise both have juvenile hairlines? These 2 know something, and their not telling Travolta! My Hair Loss Website - Dr. Hasson
Senior Member mmhce Posted February 21, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 21, 2009 But I thought in early 2001 they said cloning hair was only a few years away? That's what they said about cold fusion nuclear technology too. It (cloning, gene manipulation) may not change anything for us. We will NEVER be 16 yrs. again, but our children may have the possibility of living without MPB. take care...
Senior Member kaounis Posted February 21, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 21, 2009 The only way you could get someone else's hair follicle transplanted without rejection, or without taking any medications, is if you have an identical twin, but chances are if you are identicle twins, MPB will be the same....so not very practical..By the way I like Leeson's idea..lol.. Just a thought from the peanut gallery....
