Regular Member tj2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted December 9, 2014 (edited) So i had a hair transplant at the maral clinic in istanbul almost two weeks ago everything went smoothly i was picked up at the airport and was taken to a nice hotel . I was picked up the next morning and to the clinic i had a chat with the dr hes a very nice guy he designed the hairline then it was onto the headshave and the painkilling injections which were the worst bit. I had 2 lovely ladies working on my head i felt no pain the whole thing took about 7 hours everyone was very profesional and well managed the price is very inexpensive but the service and the way your treated is 5 star. It was a very uncomftable night i got a bit of sleep not much thr next morning i went back to the clinic and had the bandages removed and was given a oversized trilby for the flight home which looked a bit weird but my head was preety gruesome so it had to be covered up. Actually as i was in the airport i saw at least 6 other ht victims all indian looking guys none of them were wearing hats but with the darker skine tone it wasnt easy to tell they had an op unless you were up close. So all in all it went very well and for the price it was an amazing service so know i suppose its a waiting game . Senior Member fredifredo Posted December 15, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted December 15, 2014 Hi tj2014. Welcome ! That looks like a great job there again... I love your hairline, and I believe your density will be very good. Be prepared to face jealous Maral's attackers / competitors, who cannot accept that he offers a great job and an incredible value. I look forward to see the evolution Be patient, the 3 first months are the longest ! Fred

Senior Member sj14 Posted December 15, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted December 15, 2014 Thanks guys its all good so far still waiting for the shedding phase and for the redness to go as for the hairline i like it it is slightly offcenter and higher on the right side but natrual hairline was the same so its all good. I'm still waiting for my redness to go away as well, more of a pink color now. The top area has faded more than my donor, but the donor is so itchy!! Senior Member sj14 Posted December 24, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted December 24, 2014 I thought shedding starts from the 4th day to the 30th day and last up to two months? I'm surprise you still have a lot of it hasn't shed yet. Probably more than half has shed and I'm just hitting a month. At least you have an idea what you will look like when it's all said and done. Regular Member tj2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Author Regular Member Share Posted December 25, 2014 Ive read shedding can happen up to 8 weeks after surgery the bad thing is im just getting used to having a hairline again and i know its all going to fall out again but if the final result looks like it does now ill be happy. Regular Member tj2014 Posted December 26, 2014 Author Regular Member Share Posted December 26, 2014 I have started to shed almost exactly a month post op about half the hair fell in the last two days.
Regular Member tj2014 Posted January 2, 2015 Author Regular Member Share Posted January 2, 2015 So about 60% of the grafts have shed most in a couple of days at exacly 4 weeks the rest seem to be hanging in there im not sure if its a good thing or not i would of thought the sooner they shed the sooner they grow back. The transplanted area is still very red although thats slowly reducing i havent looked at the donor area for a while so i dont know whats going on there. I have noticed a few pimples in the transplanted area in the last few days im not sure if thats good or bad i did buzz my hair with a number 3 guard i was carefull not to touch the grafts but im not sure if the two are related. Regular Member tj2014 Posted February 25, 2015 Author Regular Member Share Posted February 25, 2015 So im exactly 3 months post op its going ok i shed about 60% of the grafts so im not sure if i have any shed grafts that are regrowing or if its all unshed hairs there actually more hair that it seems on the pics the lights wash it out a bit. The recipient area is still very red and the donor area looks a bit sparse to me but im not sure so in the third pic ive drawn the transplant area everything below the line is new hair. Regular Member x-tian-230k Posted February 26, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted February 26, 2015 Should you still have redness in the recipient area 3 months post op? I'm close to 1 month and I don't have much redness left and my donor area has grown out to a point that you can't tell anything was done.
Senior Member sj14 Posted February 27, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted February 27, 2015 I am at 3 months and I still have a pinkish color on my transplant area. My donor area not so much. Hopefully in a month or two there will be no traces. I guess I notice it more than anyone else because I know my skin.
