Senior Member Injertocapilar.com Posted August 25, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted August 25, 2014 This 35 years-old patient comes without medical treatment, arrives shaved at his first consultation, so seems to be a poor candidate. We recommend starting with finasteride. We again evaluate his donor area after one month, without shaving and we followed up after 6 months, viewing a slight improvement of the recipient, but a better quality of the donor hair. At this point we programmed a strategy in 2 or 3 surgeries. In the first procedure, carried out at 7 months on meds, 3101 grafts were extracted (6495 hairs; 2.1 hair per graft; 45 to 50 microns of hair; 0.8 mm punch; 531FU1/ 1796FU2/ 728FU3/ 42FU4) for the frontal and mid areas and temporal points. 9 months later we did the second procedure in the crown, with reinforcement of previous areas: 3303 grafts (6904 hairs; 2.09 Hairs per graft; 0.8 mm punch; 614FU1/ 1874FU2/ 723FU3/ 88FU4/ 3 FU5/ 1FU6). Dr. Jose Lorenzo. Injerto Capilar. Madrid. Spain. We will have the next 2000 grafts procedure in September. Senior Member KO Posted August 25, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted August 25, 2014 *Applause* I am curious to know why Dr Lorenzo would consider him a poor candidate, his donor seems to be fairly dense. 3382 FUE Lupanzula http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/185463-3382-grafts-lupanzula.html
Senior Member Spanker Posted August 26, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted August 26, 2014 Really nice. Hope his meds hold up because it looks like he was headed towards a nw7. I really wish the clinic would post level frontal shots to see the hairline height. You cab usually catch it in the video but photos would be nice. Regular Member glocktop Posted August 26, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted August 26, 2014 (edited) Nice improvement. The donor does look pretty thin in the pre-med photo at 00:10 in this video. This actually highlights a question I am curious about: is shaving pre-op / pre-consultation a bad idea? Does having a #2 or longer haircut assist the surgeon in assessing donor density and recipient area characteristics the first time they meet and see you? I am considering shaving 1 - 2 months pre-op so my coworkers will get used to seeing me with little hair. However, if it assists the doctor to see the hair without shaving, then I definitely would not shave pre-HT! Senior Member KO Posted August 26, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted August 26, 2014 I see....yeah his donor did dramatically improve on meds. Good reason why even advanced cases should try finasteride. 3382 FUE Lupanzula http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/185463-3382-grafts-lupanzula.html
Senior Member Mickey85 Posted August 26, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted August 26, 2014 Mindblowing as usual. I've seen other cases of patients with similar baldness patterns who had 10,000 grafts and not look as good as this. Bravo.
