Senior Member rev333 Posted August 24, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted August 24, 2014 a friend just had FUT 3600 grafts from a strip of 24 cm2 which comes out to 150 graft per cm2 sounds waaaaay above average thoughts?
Senior Member Blake Bloxham Posted August 24, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted August 24, 2014 I wonder if the numbers referred to hairs and not grafts. 150 grafts/cm2 = insanely dense 150 hairs/cm2 /2 hairs/follicular unit graft = 75 follicular units/cm2 = average density This makes more sense to me. It is possible, however, that your friend possesses incredible density! Senior Member 1978matt Posted August 24, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted August 24, 2014 a friend just had FUT 3600 grafts from a strip of 24 cm2 which comes out to 150 graft per cm2 sounds waaaaay above average thoughts? An average of 100 fu/cm2 might be possible so he would have had 2400 fus in the strip. If 1000 x 2 or 3 hair fus got broken down into singles for hairline work then he gets 1000 extra 'grafts' (total now 3400). So it might be possible. 4,312 FUT grafts (7,676 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2013 1,145 FUE grafts (3,152 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2018 763 FUE grafts (2,094 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - January 2020 Proscar 1.25mg every 3rd day
Senior Member rev333 Posted August 25, 2014 Author Senior Member Share Posted August 25, 2014 thanks guys yeah, it was 3600 grafts mostly ones and twos in the breakdown either they were broken down from larger grafts or the higher number of 1 and 2 hair grafts make it possible to have such a high graft density per cm2 and not look like a rug in person, that is, his donor doesn't appear to be so dense in person, but maybe because they are mostly 1 and 2 hair grafts.... his doc said they don't "split" grafts but can't see how else you get 3600 grafts from 24 cm2 interesting though guess we'll never know the truth
