Repair case performed by Dr. Feriduni – 2922 FU

FUT performed on a Caucasian male with:

 

- NW III anterior Class N

- Donor density of 76-84 FU/cm2

- Hair diameter of ~60-68 µm

- ‘Mini- and Punch grafts’ from a former procedure in 2011 (ex domo)

 

Treatment plan:

 

- A Follicular Unit Strip Transplantation with 2500-3000FU to attain an aesthetic reconstruction of the entire hairline, temporal recessions and temporal peaks

- Extraction of ‘Minigrafts’ from the hairline through FUE

- Excision of wrong-placed ‘Punch grafts’ from the hairline

 

Performed procedure (November 16th, 2012):

 

A Follicular Unit Strip Transplantation with 2922 FU

 

662 single hair FU

1635 double hair FU

565 triple hair FU

Ʃ: 2862 FU

+ 60 FU out of Minigraft extraction and Punch graft excision

Ʃ: 2922 FU

 

Double layer closing with Monocryl 4-0 absorbable sutures and disposable skin staples;

Parallel incisions in custom-sized blades technique (~Cutting Edge blades of 0.75mm – 0.90mm).

WOW! What a hairline. What a yield. This is a real repair. How did the revised scar turn out Doctor? The original scar was terrible. Did they take a strip and THEN make plugs from the strip??

WOW. The scar is now half the width(easily). Very impressive and probably the best example of a great scar revision I have seen. I don't think a 1mm thin scar was expected given the extreme width of the original but this certainly improved it immensely and FUE grafts into the scar won't take nearly as many grafts if the patient pursued that direction. Very nice.
