Senior Member JimmyNeutron Posted February 5, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted February 5, 2014 So let's say you get FUE HT done, and 12 days later you go back to school and want to wear a hat to cover the redness and the obvious signs that something was done to your head. Can you do this or would wearing a hat affect the grafts?
Senior Member Transhair Posted February 5, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted February 5, 2014 I think after 12 days they're permanently attached to the scalp. So a hat should be fine, just dont be super rough
Senior Member greatjob Posted February 5, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted February 5, 2014 Lot of hat threads recently. I wore a hat when I went out starting the day after my procedure, just made sure that it didn't touch the grafts. At 12 days post-op you will be fine. If you have any concerns talk to your doctor. Senior Member gillenator Posted February 5, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted February 5, 2014 And at least there are no sutures or potential stretching of the strip scar to contend with. Senior Member hsrp10 Posted February 6, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted February 6, 2014 try out several and make sure they don't rub or tug on the grafted area, it will depend on the size and shape of your head I'm not sure if it wise though if you've had temple points done, most baseball caps inevitably rub the temples a bit go dense or go home Unbiased advice and opinions based on 25 plus years of researching and actual experience with hair loss, hair restoration via both FUT & FUE, SMP, scalp issues including scalp eczema & seborrheic dermatitis and many others HSRP10's favorite FUT surgeons: *Dr. Konior, *Dr Hasson, Dr. Rahal HSRP10's favorite FUE surgeons: *Dr. Konior, *Dr. Bisanga, Dr. Erdogan, Dr. Couto (*indicates actual experience with doctor)
Regular Member fueman Posted February 7, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted February 7, 2014 i had a hat on from the very next day, no problems whats so ever.... just make sure its loose and not a wool hat. I had a flatcap myself. When placing it on your head make sure you put it on from front to back i.e put it on your forehead first and then the rest of your head, similarly when taking it off, do so from the back first..... you dont want to damage the grafts!
