Regular Member chicagoguy123 Posted August 23, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted August 23, 2013 I know there are many pills that could prevent further hair loss. Are there any pills that will prevent grey hair or reverse them?
Senior Member TakingThePlunge Posted August 23, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted August 23, 2013 There isn't a pill for grey hair currently available but I've heard for years that one is in development. Senior Member Calgacus Posted August 23, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted August 23, 2013 Biotin is supposed to help. I'm not entirely sure about the mechanism of action. "Biotin has been shown to regrow hair and even reverse premature graying." "Studies with biotin supplementation of 500 mg a day have shown results in hair restoration and reversal of hair graying." Taken from an article about Biotin from the Natural News website. Regimen: Finasteride (1.25mg): Daily. Minoxidil (5%): Twice Daily. Super Biotin (5000mcg) Vitamin Supplement; Daily Silica Complex; Daily
jacobhopp
rid from grey hair with Olive.. Take a cup of water. • Mix 1 tsp amla (olive) powder in it. • Boil the water till it reduces to half of its quantity. • You should get at least 3 teaspoons of amla water. • Mix 3 teaspoons of lemon juice with the amla water. • Now add this amal-lemon juice mix to the required amount of water that is needed to wash your hair. • Wash you hair with this water. Try this.....
Regular Member billyeoman Posted November 8, 2016 Regular Member Share Posted November 8, 2016 I never heard of a pill and if you happen to find one, I highly doubt it will do anything. Eating right is enough to reverse/prevent greying hair to a certain age though.
Senior Member Shampoo Posted November 8, 2016 Senior Member Share Posted November 8, 2016 (edited) chicagoguy I have been using a product called "Catalase Extreme 10,000" that is supposed to slow/reverse grey hair. Like most products, it appears some people like it and feel they get results and others don't. I think it has slowed the progression of my grey hair. Sometimes with products like this, people buy it use it for a month or two, don't see dramatic results, and then claim "that stuff doesn't work". Well #1 maybe it took decades to go grey, so it is not going to reverse that in 60 days, and #2. because something doesn't work for one person doesn't mean it doesn't work for others. It's definitely a 2EachHisOwn decision. https://www.amazon.com/Catalase-Extreme-10-000-Strongest/dp/B018MGA4KE The FDA doesn't like the claims some of the sellers of Catalase have made: (but I think it works for me) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3081697/Gray-hair-prevention-pill-targeted-million-dollar-lawsuit.html "According to recent scientific studies, low levels of catalase may play a role in the graying process of human hair. Hydrogen peroxide is naturally produced by the body and catalase breaks it down. If catalase levels decline, hydrogen peroxide cannot be broken down as well. This allows the hydrogen peroxide to bleach the hair from the inside out. This finding is under investigation in hopes of developing cosmetic treatments for graying hair based on catalase supplements." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catalase https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/gene/847 Edited November 8, 2016 by Shampoo Dr. Dow Stough - 1000 Grafts - 1996 Dr. Jerry Wong - 4352 Grafts - August 2012 Dr. Jerry Wong - 2708 Grafts - May 2016 Remember a hair transplant turns back the clock, but it doesn't stop the clock.
