Hi all,

I've been researching on here, but still have some basic questions....

1. I hear reference to NW7, etc - some type of assessment grading. Can someone help tell me what I would be based on my pics? I assume this is helpful to look at other examples of completed transplants in similar situations?

2. I am in Dallas, but I see two doctors in Houston recommended on this site. Would you recommend traveling for a consultation?

3. Any other guidance / experiences is appreciated!

Thanks! JB

You look like a NW6. It is not a high grade photo but it also looks like you may have some CVG (wrinkled scalp).

I would go see Dr. Arocha for an assessment and do a lot of research.

I am an online representative for Dr. Raymond Konior who is an elite member of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians.

View Dr. Konior's Website

View Spanker's Website

I am not a medical professional and my opinions should not be taken as medical advice.

I would say definitely get a consult from a respected doc like Dr. Arocha. The big thing you need to figure out is how much donor you have and what your expectations are. You are a high norwood level so if you have really good donor density and scalp laxity you may be able to achieve full coverage with a conservative hairline, but it will more than likely require multiple procedures. If you have lower donor density or reduced scalp laxity you may not be able to obtain your goals depending on what they are, and you may be better off shaving down. There are a lot of variables to consider when it comes to hair transplantation, the good news is you are in a great place to learn and you have not had a procedure yet. I would suggest you spend a lot of time learning all that this decision entails before you make a decision.
