DaddysGirl
Hello, I am researching more about hair loss treatments for my father. I have some questions: 1) What procedure would you recommend for my father's hair loss? (See attached picture) 2) What surgeons would you recommend & why? (We live in San Francisco, but travel is not an issue if the surgeon is good at what s/he does.) 3) How much did it cost for your procedure? (If applicable) 4) From your experience, is it worth it? Thanks for helping out a concerned daughter in advance.
Senior Member Cant decide Posted June 7, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted June 7, 2013 I suggest doing a lot of research first. In general my advice would be to consult with Dr. Wong at Hasson and Wong who is one of the best, understands Asian hair well, and does large procedures which it looks like you dad will need. Depending on his goals, assuming he wants complete coverage, he is looking at 2 procedures and a cost of 10-25k. But he may not have a good donor and even be a candidate. If he is serious about it, he should meet with Dr. Wong either at their facility in Vancover or when he is in CA for consultations so Dr. Wong can examine him in person and see if he is a good candidate. He can also do an online consultation as well. Senior Member Spanker Posted June 7, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted June 7, 2013 I agree with Cant Decide. Dr. Wong. It really depends on his goals whether or not he will need 2 procedures. I think that he would be thrilled if he were able to receive a result like Cant Decide got in his first procedure. It seems that most of the time that older patients are made happier easier than younger ones. I am an online representative for Dr. Raymond Konior who is an elite member of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians. Senior Member KO Posted June 7, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted June 7, 2013 Yeah older patients tend to have lower expectations, so they are usually better candidates. On the west coast, Hasson and Wong are good options, Here are the ones in California: Hair Transplant Clinics in California Research them, and take your time, no need to rush into it. Good luck! 3382 FUE Lupanzula http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/185463-3382-grafts-lupanzula.html
