Senior Member Shampoo Posted May 26, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted May 26, 2013 Ok....that's a bit young for a transplant because we don't know exactly where you are headed as far as hairloss down the road. I would stay on the meds, maybe get a consult, and just keep an eye on things. Have you tried using a Nanogen type concealer? It works pretty well in most cases. Senior Member JustOne Posted May 26, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted May 26, 2013 Hey man , I started to bald when i was a young age too . Im still only 26. .. and I unfortunately I rushed into a transplant by a hack job doctor who completely screwed me over, now im just playing catch up and comb overs to try and hide the bad plugs and scars he made. Im currently on finasteride and minoxidil aswell as nizoral and with those three my hair loss has slowed down if not stopped completely . Hang in there buddy the future is looking promising for us people losing their hair . Stick to those 3 , take a picture today and a picture in 6 months . See how things are progressing , this might make you a bit more optimistic . .. Just be patient . all the best Justeone

Senior Member Nick153452 Posted May 28, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted May 28, 2013 I started to bald when I was extremely young too. However, I am quite a bit more advanced than you at the age of 24. I wouldn't say that you're too young to have a hair transplant despite all of the naysayers. Just realize that you may be forced to have one later down the road. If that doesn't bother you, and you are willing to pay for a quality doctor, go for it. I just underwent my first hair transplant last week, and as of now, I have no regrets. I chose a world-renowned physician Dr. Paul Shapiro and am anxiously awaiting my results. As far as image effecting my life. I am similar to you; hair loss for me was leading my down a road of depression and I was willing to pay thousands of dollars to buy me 7-10 years of youth before I actaully am the age that I look. Now, I just gotta zap off that body hair... :-/ My Hair Loss Website Surgical Treatments: Hair transplant 5-22-2013 with Dr. Paul Shapiro at Shapiro Medical Group Total grafts transplanted: 3222 *536 singles *1651 doubles * 961 triples, *74 quadruples. Regular Member baldboy7 Posted May 29, 2013 Author Regular Member Share Posted May 29, 2013 Nick : congratulations on ur ht I have started using big 3 and I'm planning to wait for one more yr hoping that my hair loss will stabilise . I can afford to undergo one more ht in future if my first ht can give me peace of mind for a period of 7-10yrs and not like immediate 2-3yrs . Regular Member Bronte Posted May 29, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted May 29, 2013 Baldboy7,I was in the same situation as you.I suffered with cycstic acne at the age of 18.In those days Roactanne had just hit the market so I rushed in and had a 6 month coarse of this medication.BIg mistake!Roactane dries all the oil up on your face and scalp.so by fixing my acne I made my hairloss accelerate so fast.dont use this medication for acne it will wreck your hair big time.
