Regular Member LookingToLearn Posted April 6, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted April 6, 2013 A maturing hairline is sometimes (understandably) confused with baldness, as one's hairline recedes and hair sheds and is lost...But unlike MPB, a mature hairline doesn't recede once it assumes it's final shape. But at what age does one's hairline fully mature? By what age, on average, should one have a mature hairline?
Senior Member Spanker Posted April 6, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted April 6, 2013 Look at it this way. Every 10 years the general population has a 10 percent more chance added to their previous chance to show male pattern baldness. 30 percent of men in their 30's show MPB, 40 percent in their 40's and so on. So technically, assuming you live to be in your eighties you have an 8/10 chance to bald, so I guess your an 80 percent chance that your hairline will never stop maturing. But for your purposes on what I assume you are concerned about I think the generally accepted age is 29. Dr. Glenn Charles
Everyone grows into their adult hairline at different times. It probably depends on several factors including but not limited to family history/ genetics, time of initial hair loss / receding, and overall health.
