I know after the first 7 days the hairs are firmly in place. but what if they have fallen out before the 7 days does that mean they're not going to grow at all. just asking because I had a fue

No expert here, but it has always been my assumption that it is the grafts falling out, not the hairs, that is the issue. If you've knocked your head and there was a lot of blood, you may have knocked out a graft. Too bad, but not devastating. Otherwise, i wouldn't worry about hairs falling out. They are shocked and just either work their way out naturally or friction will rub them out

From what I have read, if a graft actually came out you would have bleeding.

I'm confused with the difference between a graft and a hair. I thought they were the same thing. Can someone clarify

The graft is the entire follicle (or natural clusters of 2 or 3 follicles). So, the hair growing from the follicle will fall out following a hair transplant (usually in a couple weeks), but the follicle is still there. After 2-4 months, new hairs start growing. So, if the entire graft came out you would in all likelihood have bleeding.

so you could have 2000 grafts and still end up with more than 2000 hairs since some grafts contain multiple follicles.is that fair to say

Absolutely. That would be the norm. For example, in my first surgery I had 3048 grafts with 6447 hairs.

Each graft can contain between 1-4 hairs and maybe sometimes 5!
