Are you guys very open about the hairloss treatments you're using?

I mean in your daily life, if some colleagues say your hair is looking good or something, do you say "yeah, this Propecia is good"?

 

Or do you try to play it off as all natural?

To start with I was secretive. I thought it was embarrassing and something to be ashamed of. I kept it from everyone, even the nearest and dearest! However, 5 years down the line when family started commenting on my thick hair and questioning how had I managed to retain all of my hair and yet my brothers had lost theirs, I told them I had taken preventive measures. I felt rather proud that I had done something about 'the inevitable'. Now I have a little brother of the age of 18 asking me to let him in on the secrets of retaining hair??¦..

I prefer to keep it a secret as there is always one idiot who will broadcast it and try to embarass you.

 

The way I look at it is, if you were on viagra and had a wild night with a lady friend you would probably want her to think that was the natural you and not a little blue tablet !

Personally, I'm pretty open about it. I just started, but even before I started I told people I was going to start. Of course I also ended up telling people why I stopped the finasteride...

 

For one, I don't think there should be any stigma about using medication to keep one's hair, or somehow imply that a person who naturally keeps his hair is somehow better than one who doesn't.

 

Outside of that, I figure of the hair is growing out of my head, it's real, it's mine and I'm not bald, so I don't care how it got there. I might be more secretive about a wig (sorry, "hair system"), because the purpose of that is deception.

Not open about it cause it's a still a very sensitive part in my life that I havent able to deal with yet or at least I THOUGHT I did til I get joked on. Me coming on this site is still a secret to my girlfriend of almost 8 years. It's still embarrassing to a certain point with her though cause I am able to get her to get me my rogaine and talk lil truth about my hurts that I feel about my hair. I guess I want her to see that I am still that very confident guy. So its hard with her, so it's top secret with others. Yesterday I picked up my propecia at the pharmacy and my girlfriend wanted to get a opinion on it with her friend cause she is a pharmacist. She wants to know if my health care is good and why it doesn't cover propecia. I also picked up a Econezole cream and it paid for that, but I THOUGHT SHE WOULD KEEP MY THIN HAIR MEDICINE (propecia)out. MAN!! she called me out to her girlfriend. I did not hear NOTHING TIL I HEARD HER FRIEND SAID, IS HE BALDING????!!!!! ON THE PHONE. I TRIED TO STAY CALM AND WAIT TIL SHE GOT OFF THE PHONE. I asked her What the Hell!! Did you not know she is a Pharmacist and that she went to school for 7 years for it. HER ANSWER: I thought she did know, stuped answer!!! She said its ok!! Your like her brother, still I don't want her to know. Lets just hope I don't feel weird around her

 

I just hope she forgets cause her friend was packing for a week to Puerto Rico,so please have fun and forget.

I am honest with my co-workers and friend.I even try to encourage the other challenged ones to give it a try.Some have taken my advice.I work in a place that is notorious for ball busting and thick skin is a requirement.I have also had many inquire about my regime.Don't let them know it bothers you then it will be no fun for them to bust on you about it.

people at my job have been making comments about my hair for the past two years when I first started to notice. However I talk openly about my hair loss admitting that I am losing it and also speaking about how I want to do something about. People even ask why don't you get a hair transplant, even though they have no idea what that entails. I am pretty open, I meaning balding is something that most men will go through, so no biggie if I am trying to slow it down.

I'm not, at all. I have one friend who has the same problem ande we compare notes, but apart from that, and my partner, it's concealants and denial all the way!

 

Actually though no-one's really ever asked me, do you guys get asked a lot?

People don't ask me, but I sometimes tell people "I'm losing my hair!", if we're talking about getting old.
