Senior Member olmert Posted June 16, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted June 16, 2012 Why do they give you an AIDS test and CBC test before a transplant? Do all doctors do this test?
Senior Member Spanker Posted June 16, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted June 16, 2012 I do not think all docs do this, and I am not sure why except so they know should an accidental stick occur. When working in the medical field, you should always practice safety like the patient has something they could give you, but we are all human and people get complacent. I stuck myself over a decade ago and was devastated. It was on a dirty dental instrument. I had no idea the HIV or hep c status of the prior pt. It would have been nice to know. Luckily, I have tested negative ever since. I am an online representative for Dr. Raymond Konior who is an elite member of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians.
