Senior Member Time to do something Posted April 8, 2012 Senior Member Posted April 8, 2012 The message below is from "Jotronic". This is very interesting and I want to know more about it for sure. Does anyone else know anything about this? Is it available anywhere in the U.S. or Canada? If not how difficult would it be for a facility already doing it to simply use a different type of ink that is temporary? "If you want to consider anything remotely similar to a tattoo then you shoud consider a temporary micropigmentation. I've seen the results from several companies now and when I was in Italy last month I met a woman that , in my opinion, offers the most realistic option available and it is temporary so if you don't like it you don't have to live with it. It lasts for up to two years and she can customize the color for you. She speaks about three words of English but her partner is marginally more proficient with English. Her clinic is called Beauty Medical Milano in Milan, Italy. I've seen the work and it's probably the best I've seen to date". Senior Member scar5 Posted April 9, 2012 Senior Member Posted April 9, 2012 Here's the issue with temporary tatts as I see it. (not to be confused with transfers, sticker like, which might not be as stupid as it sounds) First, all tatts are temporary to some degree because they ALL fade. Obviously, they fade at a greater or lesser rate, but lets look at one designed to fade in two years. Soluble inks like the ones we should be getting from scalp pigmentation How long will you get at good coverage for a 'two year' job? First two to three weeks = too dark as the initial ink 'settles' Next three to six months = optimal or 'what you paid for' Months six - eighteen = significantly compromised as we assume we pass the 50% faded mark and beyond Months eighteen to twenty four = if it really fades in two years to fade, we have to assume that the last six months are practically useless as the remaining ink is disappearing or disappeared. I suppose, in that initial three to six months window you could get a glimpse of what it looks like and make the decision for a permanent decision from there. That is what a wise and patient person might do ( not me! ) But would the more permanent ink react the same way anyway?
Senior Member Time to do something Posted April 9, 2012 Author Senior Member Posted April 9, 2012 Good points Scar5, I was thinking the exact same thing. Senior Member StaggerLee123 Posted April 9, 2012 Senior Member Posted April 9, 2012 For sure man let your hair grow out on top and trim it up on the sides and back before you make any decision on tatooing. I know you are transitioning from a hair piece so it must feel strange, give it a little time.
Senior Member aaron1234 Posted April 9, 2012 Senior Member Posted April 9, 2012 It's a longshot but maybe someday I'll try the micropigmentation. If I do then I will definitely get a test patch done first and see how it holds up after sometime. Of course, I will do this after I've seen multiple patients who have had this done in person. Senior Member Bucksred Posted April 9, 2012 Senior Member Posted April 9, 2012 I'm of the opinion the only way it works if you have your very, very short, as its meant to look like stubble.

I've seen guys with longer hair with micro pigmentation and it looks good. It lessens the contrast between hair and scalp.
