Senior Member Buzz2 Posted April 2, 2012 Senior Member Posted April 2, 2012 Proscar 1/4s Vs Propecia I have been using Propecia now for just over 7 months and I cannot see any difference to my hair, which I suppose can be classed as a good thing as I'm retaining what I have. Due to costs I would prefer to use Proscar cut into 1/4 rather than the Propecia. As this will save me about ?30.00 a month !! I know its the same active ingredient Finasteride but do you think this will compromise the result in any way ? As it will be a slightly different different dosage and surely Propecia has other ingredients which are not present in Proscar. Appreciate peoples thoughts on this and anyone's experience if they have also swapped Thanks HT No1 : Nobel clinic, Gatwick 500 grafts - Terrible result, left with bumpy skin HT No2 : Marwan Saifi 1680 grafts. Great result HT No3 - Marwan Saifi 1250 grafts. Another good result. HT No4 - Hakan Doganay 2134 grafts. Result TBA Total 5134 grafts.
Senior Member NEWHAIRPLEASE Posted April 2, 2012 Senior Member Posted April 2, 2012 It's the samething. You will be fine. Also, you will save a lot of money!! Newhairplease!! Dr Rahal in January 19, 2012:) 4808 FUT grafts- 941 singles, 2809 doubles, 1031 triples, 27 quads My Hairloss Website
Senior Member 1978matt Posted April 2, 2012 Senior Member Posted April 2, 2012 I've not taken either but as soon as you cut any film coated tablet it means it is absorbed into the system a lot quicker. That's why I would always favour individual 1mg tablets where possible because these give you a steady dose throughout the day. That's my theory anyway! 4,312 FUT grafts (7,676 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2013 1,145 FUE grafts (3,152 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2018 763 FUE grafts (2,094 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - January 2020 Proscar 1.25mg every 3rd day
Senior Member chrisdav Posted April 2, 2012 Senior Member Posted April 2, 2012 Buzz2, there is no difference and financially better using proscar. 2 poor unsatisfactory hair transplants performed in the UK. Based on vast research and meeting patients, I travelled to see Dr Feller in New York to get repaired.
