Hello.

im a 24 year old male, 25 this year. i have been losing hair since the age of 16.

i have been on for propecia on and off for 2 years, but am taking it consitantly now on a mon/wed/fri 1mg.

I am in a position where i can afford to have a HT at the end of the year. i have been on this site for a couple of years now just watching and have learnt so much i could be an expert lol, you lot are a great help!

i know im young but i think my hairloss state does grant a HT. I have been thinking about it for over 2 years, and now the time just seems right!

I know im probs gonna need 2 mega sessions in my life, so i went to get the first one under way to regain a nice hairline and go as far back as needed. I would like a nice hairline and then the rest behind i dont mind it being over dense because i know thats not possible being a will prob progress to a nw6/nw7, but its not as bad as it sounds i have a very narrow head lol so im hoping the surface area wont be too large to cover, and my donor density is quite good i think. Overall in my HT journey as i said i would like a nice fringe and then a nice coverage over midscalp leading back to a light covering of crown. i dont mind having a thin criwn in the long run. i have uploaded some pics, a couple of them are with my hair wet im sure you can gather which ones. In the sun now my hair looks very thin on top. Would love just to get that fringe back and not worry about wind etc exposing my bald receding bits lol.

IM considering dr.rahal, H&W, and dr.Feller!

Opinions please people!!, thankyou!! :D

Hello. True you are young but your pattern is quite clear as to where it's heading. When you're ready, you may want to do 3-3.5k grafts which will do you a world of good for your appearance. That should leave you with plenty of grafts in the tank for the future. Good donor area from those photos.

Those docs are very experienced of course as you have already found out.

Thanks dutch. I will have enough money for 4000 grafts if needed come xmas time. by that time i will be 25 and half years old. So maybe this could work out well and be a success story i hope!

Why are you taking propecia every other day? It should be taken daily and when you do you may experience an improvement. At your age you should be a bit conservative with your overall transplant design as you may go on to a high Norwood pattern.i don't believe you need 3000 grafts for what you are experiencing currently as I believe you should only treat your hairline and corners so I think about 2000 grafts is more accurate, but this should be confirmed in a consultation.

I take it every other day because I experienced a bit of sides taking it every day so lowering the amount of times I take it to bi-daily has seen a major improvement in the sides. I now experience no sides at all. Iv also seen other members on here doing the same routine. I don't quite think 2000 will be enough, maybe 3000.

I would suggest taking half a pill a day (0.5 milligrams) instead of every other day as we've seen better results than skipping a day.

Hairyi

I somewhat agree with the above post....I think you have excellent donor available so that is not a concern...I would get on propecia regularly and I would also lean to starting rogaine..especially in the crown for you as you could really thicken up in the crown with rogaine,,COULD, maybe not though...also, you are in NO need for a megasession!! I think 2/k would do you excellent!!

Thnx newhair. I did try romaine for a few months. I didn't really see any results although I probs didn't try it for long enough, and to be honest putting it on morning and night was a bit of a pain, although I know thts just the way it is, but I think with my hair loss what will be will be, and I don't think romaine will make too much difference , but I will deffo stay on the propecia. Wow 2000 that would be good considering I was thinking oh my god Iv not gt a very good hea of hair and I'm gonna need 4000 to start! Seen your pics btw new hair looking very good!

also what makes me donor good? is it because its quite dense? does this help in the look of my result or does it just help camoflauge the scar well because my hair isnt thin or diffuse at the back?

Your donor being dense does mean that the scar will be more easily hidden, but it also means that you simply have more donor hair available to you. A donor strip will contain more hairs within it if your hair density is high.
