I have been a member here for a long time but am not really a poster type of person but better later than never.

I have been thinking about surgery for a while now.I have contacted a couple of clinics in the past but still cant decide if to go ahead with it.

Have any other members had this sort of hesitancy in not knowing whether to go forward with this?

If so what have been the deciding factors to go one way or the other?

So many questions, with not knowing the answers. It is enough to send you mad.

Thanks to any one who can advise.

That's why my user name is "Can't decide" :) I felt exactly as you do before I went ahead.

Will provide feedback later...

My suggestion is to make a two-sided list entitled "benefits & risks".

Then start listing the known benefits and risks that are involved in surgical hair restoration. You want to also begin making a lsit of questions that you are set-out to get answered.

Do not schedule any consultations until you have gained a level of knowledge that cover the medicinal side of stabilizing your hairloss and build your knowledge base from there.

Reserach the difference between strip and FUE and what the major differences are.

Begin to start drafting your restoration goals on paper. Begin to see your own limitations, your hair characteristics, your family history of hairloss. Where do you fit in on the Norwood scale? Understand your own potential of hairloss based on family history.

Never start surgery until you know whether the hairloss meds are effective for you or not. It will have a large bearing on your gaols.

Each of us must beging to build this type of foundation before we even start researching the docotrs to choose from. We msut be prepared with a lsit of questions that relate to our own situations.

You will start to know what to ask and if you are being "sold" or informed. There is a huge difference between the two.

Possibly you can share your pics to get opinions.
