Regular Member Dr. Glenn Charles Posted November 29, 2011 Regular Member Posted November 29, 2011 There have been a few studies that have used different devices to measure scalp laxity that have shown scalp exercises can make a difference. I am sure that they may work or be effective in some patients when compared to others. Dr. Glenn Charles is a member of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians
Senior Member Capelli11 Posted November 29, 2011 Senior Member Posted November 29, 2011 I have been doing my exercises for over 2.5 months as I have my HT surgery next week...and I am not sure if I truly feel I have improved my laxity. I gather it had to have helped it but can't really be sure though. I'm having 3k grafts and was told that my laxity is good for this so I'm hoping it really is come surgery time next week! -HT with Dr. Rahal- December 2011- 4,616 grafts FUT Check out my website updates: http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=2225 My HT write up: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/164084-my-hair-transplant-dr-rahal-4-600-fut-write-up-pics.html My FOXBAR write up: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/164085-my-foxbar-write-up-dr-rahal-4-600-fut.html
Senior Member aaron1234 Posted November 29, 2011 Senior Member Posted November 29, 2011 I also did them a bit before my last surgery but I wasn't consistent enough to expect much of a difference. Severn has a great story with scalp exercises. He had poor laxity and was a repair patient. He did them religiously, sometimes surpassing two hours a day. He nearly doubled the amount of grafts that SMG anticipated getting from him. I'm sure in the future I'll have to do more of 'em after three procedures already. Regular Member wildflowerwildflower Posted November 29, 2011 Regular Member Posted November 29, 2011 I've been doing at least 5 minutes each day for the past 2 months and I have noticed maybe a very little more movement in the scalp, but it's hardly noticeable and mostly in the sides, not so much in the back. I also wondered if people actually felt more movement as they practiced these. I always worry I'm not doing enough but as strange as this may sound find it hard to find time to do them in my crazy busy life.
Senior Member NEWHAIRPLEASE Posted November 29, 2011 Author Senior Member Posted November 29, 2011 I think I can actually tell a difference. I've been doing them for about 15-20 min a day for the last 3 months. It seems as if it has helped. I guess I'll find out next month! Maybe it's just a mental thing! Newhairplease!!
