Regular Member moose45 Posted June 3, 2011 Regular Member Share Posted June 3, 2011 Hey guys, I am one month post-HT and was wondering when is it safe to get a haircut. Not all of my grafts have fallen off yet so I definitely do not want to damage them. But my hair everywhere else is really long. So, when do you guys think it is safe to get a haircut without damaging the new grafts that have not shed as of yet? Thanks, moose45
Senior Member Janna Posted June 3, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted June 3, 2011 You're one month post op? You should be fine to cut your hair and go about normally for most part. Do you have post op instructions from your clinic? If not, contact them to follow their protocol. Senior Member gillenator Posted June 3, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted June 3, 2011 I absolutely concur with Janna. Your grafts are well seated and you won't hurt them with a haircut. I presume that all of the crusts are gone and your scalp is clean at this point post-op? Post-op instructions can vary somewhat so it is important to follow your own doctor's instructions. Just think...the best is yet to come...your new growth! Best wishes to you. Gillenator Independent Patient Advocate I am not a physician and not employed by any doctor/clinic. Senior Member Atomic Posted June 4, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted June 4, 2011 Go ahead & get it cut. Just make sure the sylist is aware of your HT & ask them to be gentle around the grafts & scar.
