Dr. Hasson/Dense Packing/3328 Grafts

This patient came to see Dr. Hasson for hairline reshaping. Dr. Hasson created a design that was more youthful yet still retained the appropriate temple recession that is necessary for adult males.

The patient has fine hair which is very dense everywhere else on his scalp. It is an accepted fact that finer hair requires more density and this is especially true for this patient as only high density will allow the transplant to blend effectively and naturally into the patient's existing hair. The result is four years post-op from one session of 3328 grafts.

Jo,

Excellent transformation! I really like this patient's hairline, and it's great to see the results maintain quality over time. Nicely done.

Joe,

Beautiful job by Dr. Hasson! The change is significant yet not extreme. The hairline design is spot on.

As always, thank you for posting!

Thanks for your comments guys. Someone asked me in an email why we would take a NW2 and place so many grafts. In reality, this patient was not a NW2 but was receding to the point where he was just shy of being a true NW3. The finer hairs in the temples can give that impression but these finer hairs were not considered when the hair loss pattern was determined.

This is a beautiful job! Do you have a graft placement photo?

Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily

Avodart 0.5 mg. daily

Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily

5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily

Biotin 1000 mcg daily

Multi Vitamin daily

Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1? :D

zo1279,

Yes but I am not on Propecia per se, I take Proscar as a cut tablet daily. We sometimes will prescribe it EOD but usually it is daily. If I were you I'd just take it every other day out of the gate and give it two weeks. If you don't have sides at two weeks then up it to daily and go from there.

RCWest,

Thank you for your comments. No, there are no placement shots unfortunately as this was before we took immediate post-op photos as a standard rule. I did find it odd myself that there were no immediate post-op photos as I would have thought that this case would have warranted some but it is what it is.
