ulyssesslopes
I met with Dr W Lindsey over the weekend. I appreciated his being straightforward that my loss on my crown probably wouldn't be worth while for HT at this point. Since I've been through a lot of chemotherapy, my hair is pretty fine and he suggested I wait till I have loss at my hairline to use the donor hair I have more effectively. It was refreshing to meet with someone who is candid rather than just going after a quick procedure. It felt like he was more interested in my long term wellfare than a short term buck. Senior Member Blake Bloxham Posted February 22, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted February 22, 2011 Ulyssess, Thank you for sharing your experience with Dr. Lindsey. Like you said, he's a very compassionate and ethical surgeon, and I'm pleased to hear he was straightforward and honest with you during the consultation. Like you said, definitely "refreshing." I'm curious though, are you looking for any other advice on how to proceed with your hair loss from here? If so, please feel free to ask any additional questions regarding treatments that may be more appropriate for your level of hair loss. Senior Member MusoInOz Posted February 22, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted February 22, 2011 Hey mate, I seem to chime in following Future HT Doc like clock work. Apologies mate! I would assume your Dr has cautioned you on taking certain medications post chemotherapy? May I ask how long it has been since ceasing your treatment? I am truly sorry for your current situation going through this would be very overwhelming, I can only imagine. If you have only ceased treatment recently or within the last twelve months I am guessing you Dr advised that your system would be in a state of shock, in some documented cases patients undergoing chemotherapy have not experienced growth for two years or more. I apologise as I have not read your original post explaining your current situation and noting when you did stop the therapy. Dr Lindsey seems like a really great Doc IMO, he has posted some amazing results on here and contributed great info also. Did the good Doc recommend anything in particular whilst waiting for things to progress?
